Marco Bezzecchi heads into the Spanish Grand Prix at Circuito de Jerez in commanding form, leading the MotoGP standings after a dominant run with Aprilia Racing. The Italian has won all three Grands Prix so far in 2026, racking up five consecutive victories and leading over 120 laps, underlining Aprilia’s early-season dominance.
Close behind is teammate Jorge Martin, who trails Bezzecchi by just four points. The 2024 world champion arrives in Jerez with renewed confidence following a Sprint victory and podium finish in Austin. With both riders in strong form, an intense intra-team battle is expected as Aprilia looks to extend its winning streak on Spanish soil.
Meanwhile, at Trackhouse MotoGP Team, rookie Ai Ogura will be aiming to bounce back after a technical issue denied him a maiden MotoGP podium in Texas. Meanwhile, Raul Fernandez targets a strong result at his home race.

KTM and Acosta Lead the Chase
Pedro Acosta continues to lead KTM’s challenge, sitting 21 points behind Bezzecchi. The young Spaniard impressed in Austin but missed out on a podium due to a tyre pressure penalty.
At Red Bull KTM Tech3, Enea Bastianini capitalised on that penalty to secure a podium and will look to build on that momentum in Jerez. However, teammate Maverick Viñales remains sidelined through injury, with no replacement after Pol Espargaró was also ruled out.

Ducati Seeks Response
Attention also turns to Marc Marquez, who heads into his home race still searching for his first Sunday podium of the season. Despite strong Sprint performances, the Ducati Lenovo Team rider sits 36 points off the championship lead.
Teammate Francesco Bagnaia, a three-time winner in Jerez between 2022 and 2024, is also looking to return to the podium after an inconsistent start to the campaign.
Elsewhere, Fabio Di Giannantonio leads Ducati’s charge as the top-performing rider in recent rounds, while Alex Marquez, last year’s winner, aims to rediscover form.

Honda and Yamaha Eye Progress
At Honda HRC Castrol, Joan Mir showed promise in Austin but failed to convert it into a race result, while Luca Marini continued to collect points. Johann Zarco and rookie Diogo Moreira will also be targeting improvements.
For Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP, progress remains steady. Fabio Quartararo, who secured pole and a podium in Jerez last year, will be aiming to repeat that performance, while teammates Alex Rins and Jack Miller look to bounce back after a challenging round in Austin.

All Eyes on Jerez
With Aprilia setting the pace and rivals closing in, the Spanish Grand Prix promises to be a key turning point in the 2026 MotoGP season.
As the championship returns to Europe, Jerez once again provides the perfect stage for a potential shift in momentum and another chapter in an already intense title fight.
