Aprilia Racing is set for one of the most important weekends of its 2026 MotoGP campaign as the team heads to the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for the Grand Prix of San Marino and the Rimini Riviera. The Italian manufacturer will contest its home race in front of passionate local fans during Round 14 of the MotoGP World Championship.

Following an encouraging outing at MotorLand Aragón, Aprilia Racing arrives in Misano with confidence as both Jorge Martín and Marco Bezzecchi continue their push for strong results aboard the RS-GP26.

Championship leader Jorge Martín heads into the weekend sitting at the top of the riders’ standings with 256 points. After showing competitive pace in Aragón, the Spaniard hopes to maintain his momentum and continue fighting for podium finishes while extending his title challenge.

Meanwhile, Marco Bezzecchi returns to his home circuit after an impressive performance in Aragón, where he secured two third-place finishes despite still recovering from the injury he suffered at the Sachsenring. Racing in front of Italian supporters, Bezzecchi will be aiming to continue his recent form and deliver another strong result for Aprilia Racing.

The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli is widely regarded as one of MotoGP’s most technical venues. Measuring 4.23 km in length, the clockwise circuit features 16 corners, comprising 10 right-handers and six left-handers. The layout demands precision through its numerous direction changes and chicanes, while the famous Turn 11, known as Curvone, is one of the fastest corners on the calendar, with riders reaching speeds of approximately 240 km/h.

With Aprilia Racing competing on home soil, expectations will be high as the team looks to deliver a memorable performance in front of its Italian fans.

Speaking ahead of the San Marino Grand Prix, Jorge Martín said racing at Misano always carries extra significance for both the team and its supporters.

“The Misano GP is always special when you are on an Italian team and, along with Aprilia and the fans, I’m sure it will be a great weekend. We are heading to a track that I like after doing a good job in Aragón, and we have clear objectives.”

The reigning championship leader also stressed that although leading the standings is an important achievement, the team’s main focus remains on continuous improvement.

“Leading the standings is important for the entire Aprilia team, but we’ve already seen that, given the close gaps, it is neither a priority nor a determining factor. We need to keep focusing on our work. I can’t wait to get on the RS-GP26 and do my best at Aprilia’s home race.”

Marco Bezzecchi is equally excited about returning to Misano and racing in front of the home crowd after a promising weekend in Aragón.

“I’m extremely happy to be going to Misano. It will be fantastic to finally see all our fans again, although it will undoubtedly be a demanding weekend. I can’t wait to get back on the track on my RS-GP26.”

With the championship battle intensifying and Aprilia Racing competing on home soil, the San Marino Grand Prix promises to be a crucial weekend for both Jorge Martín and Marco Bezzecchi as they look to reward the Italian manufacturer and its supporters with another competitive performance.
