The BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 team arrives at Texas’ Circuit of the Americas (COTA) determined to bounce back after a challenging Argentine GP. Both Tony Arbolino and Izan Guevara, who boast impressive COTA pedigrees, view the 5.513km, 20-corner circuit as the ideal venue to reignite their 2025 campaigns.
Arbolino, currently 14th in the standings with 8 points, has particularly fond memories of Austin. The Italian dominated the 2022 race with a 3.4-second victory over then-champion Ai Ogura, then narrowly lost an epic 2023 duel to Pedro Acosta by just 0.146s. Now recovering from a forearm issue that cost him a top-five finish in Argentina, Arbolino remains bullish: “We’ve improved the bike significantly since Thailand. If we work well here, we can aim for the podium.”
For Guevara (18th, 1 point), COTA represents where his world championship dreams first crystallized – the site of his maiden Grand Prix victory in 2021. The Spaniard acknowledges qualifying as key: “We’ve shown front-running pace but need better Saturdays. Starting up front makes everything easier.”
Team Manager Alex De Angelis highlights the squad’s growing cohesion: “When you combine rider confidence, bike development and a beloved track, all ingredients for success are present. We’re focused on continuous improvement.”
The Moto2 Grand Prix of the Americas kicks off Sunday at 12:15 local time (19:15 CET), with both BLU CRU riders eager to convert COTA’s flowing layout into a springboard for their championship aspirations.
