MKA Group recognised for producing the first Malaysian-designed handle grip used in the MotoGP World Championship.

MKA Group, the Malaysian automotive company behind the globally recognised RCB brand, has been officially recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records for producing the first Malaysian-designed motorcycle handle grip to be used in the MotoGP World Championship.
The achievement marks a significant milestone for Malaysia’s automotive industry, as the RCB Nagamaki Handle Grip has successfully been used by riders competing across MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3, proving its performance and durability at the highest level of motorcycle racing.
Developed entirely in Malaysia by MKA Group’s research and development team, the RCB Nagamaki Handle Grip entered development in December 2020 with a clear objective of improving rider ergonomics, comfort and control under extreme racing conditions.

Its design draws inspiration from the traditional Japanese tsuka, or katana handle, and the tsukamaki wrapping technique. The distinctive woven surface is engineered to provide improved grip stability while reducing vibration, hand fatigue and numbness during high-speed riding. The enlarged bump geometry also enhances tactile feedback, allowing riders to maintain better control throughout a race.
The handle grip’s capabilities were validated through real-world competition in Grand Prix racing, where it has been used by riders across all three world championship classes, demonstrating its reliability under the demanding conditions of professional motorsport.
MKA Group CEO Bruce Lee described the recognition as a proud achievement not only for the company but also for Malaysian engineering.
“RCB is deeply honoured to receive this recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records. This milestone is not only a proud achievement for our company and the RCB brand, but also for Malaysia’s engineering and manufacturing industry.”
“It demonstrates that Malaysian-designed and Malaysian-engineered products can compete on the global MotoGP stage alongside the very best in the world. This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to quality, performance and continuous innovation,” he said.

The Malaysia Book of Records recognition highlights RCB’s engineering capabilities and growing contribution to the international motorsports industry, while reinforcing Malaysia’s reputation in high-performance automotive technology and advanced manufacturing.
As RCB continues expanding its presence in global motorcycle racing and the aftermarket performance parts industry, the latest recognition stands as another testament to the ability of Malaysian innovation to compete successfully on the world stage.
