‘We knew this year would be special. Firstly because we lost the concessions and secondly because we would have changes in the riders and would have to rebuild the squad. So to speak the reason why we didn’t bring a completely new motorbike,’ explained the KTM Technical Coordinator.
Regarding development, Risse explained: ‘We focused on making the engine more durable so as not to lose performance and last year’s bike worked well. So a lot of the development was done in the details like fine-tuning the bike to the max’. He then pointed the batteries to the problems felt by the manufacturer.
– What we accomplished in the early rounds, along with the new kind of tyre distribution we had at the front this year, was insufficient.
KTM quickly tried to turn around the less favorable situation. ‘We tried to solve the problem by turning each stone inside out. We did everything we could to deal with the circumstance and improve our speed during the year so that we could make progress and avoid getting lost.’
