However, the German press reports that Raúl Fernández is now the favourite.

According to speedweek.com, the former Moto3 world champion Fernández will return to MotoGP in 2022. This move is to reissue the duo highlighted in Moto2 this year at the helm of Red Bull KTM Ajo. The duo are Remy Gardner, the championship leader in the middle class, and Raúl Fernández, the current runner-up.

Aki Ajo told the German website last June that ‘If you hand over one Moto2 rider a year to MotoGP, that’s enough’.

Iker Lecuona and Danilo Petrucci’s futures remains uncertain if the romour is confirmed. Certain roles for MotoGP 2022 at Petronas, Yamaha, and Aramco Racing Team VR46 are still to be determined.

Poncharal stated that the team would be closer to determining who would guarantee a spot in the French structure after the round in Assen. Pit Beirer has also discussed Danilo Petrucci’s potential future as a test driver.
