During the recent launch of the ZXMOTO 820RR, 500RR and 500F in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, ZXMOTO Malaysia also showcased several upcoming models that could eventually make their way into the local market.
Among the motorcycles on display was the ZXMOTO 820R, an all-new streetfighter that takes a different approach from the fully faired 820RR.
While the 820RR is positioned as a supersport model, the 820R adopts a street-naked design, making it the more upright and road-focused version of the two.

130hp Three-Cylinder Engine
The ZXMOTO 820R was first showcased by the Chinese manufacturer at EICMA 2025. It shares the same 818.8cc, 12-valve DOHC inline three-cylinder engine as the 820RR, although the engine has been retuned for the naked model.
As a result, the 820R produces 130hp and 78Nm of torque. While output is slightly lower than the 820RR, the figures still put the ZXMOTO 820R above models such as the Yamaha MT-09 and Ducati Streetfighter V2 in terms of claimed peak power. Technical details remain limited for now, as ZXMOTO Malaysia has yet to reveal the complete specification of the motorcycle.

According to the information revealed so far, the 820R will feature a fully adjustable suspension package. The suspension system comes from Chinese manufacturer Yu’an, while braking hardware is supplied by Taisko. The motorcycle has a seat height of around 820mm and a claimed wet weight of 186kg, making it lighter than the 820RR.
Comprehensive Electronics Package
Despite its naked-bike configuration, the 820R retains a comprehensive electronics package similar to the 820RR. This includes a six-axis IMU, cornering ABS, lean-sensitive traction control and multiple riding modes.
Other features include a bi-directional quickshifter, keyless system, TFT instrument display, steering damper, cruise control and launch control.
This combination gives the 820R a fairly extensive technology package for a streetfighter, particularly considering its three-cylinder engine and performance-focused positioning.

Malaysia Launch Still Unconfirmed
With the ZXMOTO 820RR currently priced at RM39,888 in Malaysia, the upcoming 820R is expected to be positioned slightly below its fully faired sibling if it eventually goes on sale locally.
However, ZXMOTO Malaysia has not yet announced the official pricing or launch date for the 820R. For now, Malaysian riders will have to wait for further updates from MForce Bike Holdings Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of ZXMOTO in Malaysia.
