Aprilia Racing will conclude the 2026 MotoGP flyaway tour this weekend at the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar, with Jorge Martín making his return from injury alongside teammate Marco Bezzecchi for the twentieth round of the season.
The Qatar Grand Prix marks the final overseas race before the MotoGP paddock heads back to Europe for the last two rounds of the championship. Aprilia will be aiming to finish the flyaway campaign strongly as both riders prepare for another important weekend under the lights in Lusail.

Jorge Martín Returns After Injury Setback
Jorge Martín is back in action after missing the remainder of the Malaysian Grand Prix weekend in Sepang due to a non-displaced distal radius fracture sustained during the Sprint race at Phillip Island.
The reigning world champion had travelled to Sepang and attempted to compete but decided to withdraw before qualifying to prioritise his recovery. After returning to Spain for further treatment, Martín now feels ready to rejoin the team in Qatar.
Although he is returning to racing, the Spaniard acknowledged that the weekend will also be about evaluating his physical condition after several weeks of rehabilitation.
“It was a shame not to be able to carry on with the weekend at Sepang, but just having the chance to try was an achievement in itself. I went back to Spain to continue the treatment I need to recover from the injury and to get to Qatar in the best shape possible. Now we’ll see how the body responds and start working with Aprilia from this Thursday to see how far we can go.”

Bezzecchi Targets Strong Finish to Flyaway Tour
Marco Bezzecchi heads into Qatar determined to bounce back after a mixed weekend in Malaysia. The Italian secured his seventh Sprint podium of the 2026 season at Sepang, continuing his strong one-lap pace. However, he was unable to convert that performance into a top result in Sunday’s Grand Prix, eventually crossing the finish line in sixth place.
With Qatar being one of his favourite circuits on the calendar, Bezzecchi hopes to challenge near the front and end the flyaway tour with a positive result before the championship returns to Europe.
“Sunday’s long race in Malaysia wasn’t easy, so I’m keen to put that right. I’m happy to be heading to Qatar. It’s a track I really like. We’ll aim to get it right from the start, put together a good weekend and finish as well as we can before we head back to Europe.”

Lusail Ready to Host Another Night Race
Located on the outskirts of Doha, the Lusail International Circuit has become one of MotoGP’s most iconic venues since hosting the championship’s first-ever night race in 2008.
The 5.38 km circuit features a main straight stretching over one kilometre, providing one of the best overtaking opportunities on the calendar. Riders will also tackle 16 corners, consisting of 10 right-handers and six left-handers, making it a demanding circuit that rewards both speed and precision.
The combination of floodlit racing, high-speed sections and flowing corners has made the Qatar Grand Prix one of the most visually spectacular events on the MotoGP calendar.

Aprilia Looks Ahead to the Final Stretch
With only three rounds remaining in the 2026 MotoGP season, Aprilia Racing will be looking to maximise its opportunities in Qatar before returning to Europe for the championship finale.
The team’s focus will be split between helping Martín regain race rhythm after his injury layoff and giving Bezzecchi the machinery he needs to fight for another podium finish. A strong result at Lusail would provide valuable momentum heading into the final two races of the season.
