Hakim Danish Ramli brings high level of confidence ahead of this weekend’s Qatar Grand Prix (GP) after showing an impressive performance at the Malaysian GP at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. The national rider managed to finish the race in fourth place, thus giving him a boost of enthusiasm to continue his challenge in the Moto3 World Championship.

ZK Racing is optimistic that the excellent performance displayed in Sepang can be continued at the Lusail International Circuit, a circuit that is no stranger to the Terengganu-born racer.

Hakim Danish has raced at Lusail Circuit for two seasons through the Asia Talent Cup. This experience is able to help him adapt more quickly, especially in understanding the character of the circuit which is famous for its high-speed corners.

According to Danish, the circuit layout in Qatar suits his riding style very well because he prefers circuits with fast corners over stop-and-go corners .

“My target for the Qatar GP is to adopt the same approach as I did at the Malaysian GP. On the opening day, I want to find my rhythm quickly and try to remain calm in any situation.”

“I feel that the Malaysian GP brought a lot of positive progress for me. I have a better feeling on the bike and was able to compete with the leading group. So, I hope to carry the same feeling and performance into Qatar.”

“I have raced in Qatar for two years in the Asia Talent Cup, with my last appearance there being in 2022. For me, one of the special characteristics of the Qatar circuit is its high-speed corners. It does not have many stop-and-go corners, and I particularly enjoy circuits with fast corners.”

For the Qatar GP, Hakim Danish will use the same approach as in Sepang. The main focus is to get into a rhythm early in the free practice session before maintaining composure throughout the race weekend.

From a technical perspective, the AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSi team will not be making any major changes to his motorcycle. Instead, they will only focus on improving the bike’s settings to ensure optimal performance at Lusail.

Team manager, Zulfahmi Khairuddin, believes Hakim Danish has the ability to once again compete with the front group if he manages to start the race weekend well.

He stressed that each session, especially free practice and qualifying, plays an important role in determining the chances of achieving excellent results.

“I hope Danish can deliver his best performance in Qatar. We know the potential he has, and for now, our focus is on taking things one race at a time.”

“Hakim Danish has competed in Qatar before, and we hope he can replicate the performance he showed in Sepang when he returns to the circuit.”

“Most importantly, he needs to make a strong start to the race weekend from Friday’s practice sessions. We hope he can find his rhythm quickly and maintain his positive form throughout the Qatar Grand Prix. Qualifying will be particularly important, and I hope Danish can deliver a strong performance to secure the best possible grid position.” he said.

After 19 rounds, Hakim Danish is now in ninth place overall in the Moto3 World Championship with 116 points. He is only five points behind Valentin Perrone who is in eighth place with 121 points. This makes the Qatar GP the best opportunity for the country’s rider to improve his position in the overall standings.

Meanwhile, Spanish rider Maximo Quiles continues to lead the championship with 376 points, followed by David Almansa with 228 points. Brian Uriarte and Alvaro Carpe share 205 points.

With his performance improving and confidence following the encouraging results in Sepang, the Qatar GP is seen as the best venue for Hakim Danish to continue his positive streak.

If he manages to capitalize on his experience in Lusail and maintain consistency throughout the race weekend, the opportunity to collect valuable points and move up in the championship standings is truly wide open.
