Aprilia Tuareg Racing has once again proven its dominance in the Italian Motorally Championship, securing its fourth consecutive G-1000 class title after Thomas Marini claimed the 2026 championship in impressive fashion.

The title was sealed during the final round in Umbertide, where Marini’s consistent performances throughout the season ensured he finished on top of the standings in the twin-cylinder category. The victory also marks a dream debut season for the San Marino rider aboard the Aprilia Tuareg Rally.

Dominant Debut Season for Thomas Marini

Marini wasted no time making his mark after joining the Aprilia Tuareg Racing team for the 2026 campaign. From the opening round in Alassio, he established himself as the rider to beat by winning every special stage across the weekend.

He continued his winning momentum with a day victory in Olbia and Gioia dei Marsi, maintaining the championship lead throughout the season.

One of the standout moments came during the second race day in Gioia dei Marsi, where Marini achieved a historic overall victory against the entire field, showcasing not only his riding ability but also the competitiveness of the Aprilia Tuareg Rally against both single-cylinder and twin-cylinder machines.

By the time the championship arrived in Umbertide for the season finale, Marini had done enough to secure the G-1000 title and deliver another championship trophy to Aprilia.

Double Podium Finish for Aprilia Tuareg Racing

It wasn’t just Marini celebrating at the end of the season.

Teammate Marco Menichini also enjoyed an excellent campaign, finishing third overall in the G-1000 class. His strong performance in Umbertide included two second-place finishes across both race days, allowing him to secure his place on the championship podium.

The result means Aprilia Tuareg Racing placed two Tuareg Rally motorcycles on the final G-1000 championship podium for the first time, underlining the strength and consistency of the team’s programme throughout the season.

Meanwhile, Paolo Pettinari also capped off a successful year by finishing third overall in the Italian Rally Championship GPX standings.

Aprilia Tuareg Rally Continues to Set the Benchmark

Developed in close collaboration with GCorse and the Guareschi brothers, the Aprilia Tuareg Rally has continued to establish itself as one of the most competitive twin-cylinder rally motorcycles in the Italian championship.

Throughout the season, the bike demonstrated outstanding reliability across varying terrain and race conditions, helping the team secure another championship while also achieving an overall race victory in Gioia dei Marsi.

The latest success extends Aprilia’s remarkable run to four consecutive Italian Motorally Championship titles in the G-1000 class.

Marini: A Special Championship Victory

Thomas Marini described the championship as especially meaningful because it came during his first season riding the Aprilia Tuareg Rally.

He said adapting to a new motorcycle while competing against an increasingly competitive field made the achievement even more satisfying. Marini also praised the Guareschi team and Aprilia for providing a reliable motorcycle throughout the season and helping him perform at his best.

With the domestic championship now complete, Marini has already shifted his attention towards upcoming desert rally events, where the team will continue preparing for future international competition.

Team Already Focused on the 2027 Africa Eco Race

Team manager Vittoriano Guareschi hailed the 2026 campaign as the team’s strongest season since entering the Italian Motorally Championship.

In addition to winning a fourth consecutive G-1000 title, he highlighted the achievement of placing two Tuareg Rally motorcycles on the championship podium for the first time, as well as claiming another overall race victory during the season.

Looking ahead, the team has already begun preparations for the 2027 Africa Eco Race. During the Umbertide round, Aprilia fielded a desert-specification Tuareg Rally in the FX category with Francesco Montanari as part of its development programme.

The team is scheduled to conduct testing in Morocco this October before competing in the Addax Rally, using both events to further refine the motorcycle ahead of the Africa Eco Race and the return of rider Jacopo Cerutti.

Fourth Consecutive Title Reinforces Aprilia’s Rally Success

Winning four consecutive Italian Motorally Championship titles is another major milestone for Aprilia Tuareg Racing and further strengthens the Tuareg Rally’s reputation as one of the leading twin-cylinder rally motorcycles available today.

With a championship-winning package, proven reliability and preparations already underway for the Africa Eco Race, Aprilia heads into its next rally challenge carrying strong momentum from another highly successful season.
