Young national racer, Hakim Danish Ramli, is determined to bounce back and aim for better results at this weekend’s Catalunya GP after enduring a challenging race in Le Mans, France last week.
The AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSI rider actually showed quite a positive performance throughout the French GP when he managed to qualify for the second qualifying session (Q2) thanks to his consistent performance in free practice. However, rainy weather conditions and less than ideal setup selection saw Hakim Danish finish the race in 10th position and take home six valuable points.

Slippery track conditions pose major challenges at Le Mans
The race at the Le Mans Circuit took place in extremely slippery conditions, with almost half of the riders failing to finish due to accidents. The situation forced Hakim Danish to take a more cautious approach to avoid the risk of crashes and losing important championship points.
Although disappointed at failing to fully exploit the potential of the machine during the wet race, the young Malaysian racer sees the experience at Le Mans as an important lesson to improve his performance ahead of the action at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit.
Hakim Danish also has an impressive record in Catalunya after competing competitively in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup (RBRC) last season. However, he admitted that the challenge in Moto3 is much more intense as the difference in performance between the riders is very small.

Focus on finding the best setup since the beginning of the race week
According to Hakim Danish, the team’s main focus at the moment is to get the best setup as early as the first free practice session to ensure full confidence can be built before the qualifying session and the main race.
“Le Mans taught me a lot about how to stay calm when things are really tough. Sometimes in a race, it’s not the fastest rider who wins, but the rider who is capable of managing risks.”
I’m disappointed because we actually had really good speed all weekend, but the setup in the rain wasn’t so great.
Even so, I am still grateful to be able to bring home points when many other riders failed to finish the race. Now my focus is only on one thing, the Catalunya race.
“I have quite good memories there and it gives me extra confidence. I want to perform better and if everything goes well, I believe we can compete closer to the leading group,” said Hakim Danish.

Zulfahmi is confident that Catalunya will give a better chance
Meanwhile, SIC Racing Team Manager, Zulfahmi Khairuddin, also described Hakim Danish’s performance at Le Mans as something positive even though the final result did not reflect the team’s true capabilities.
According to him, Hakim Danish showed extraordinary maturity when facing difficult situations in wet racing.
“Overall, Hakim Danish’s performance at Le Mans was very positive even though the race results may not reflect our true potential.
In dry conditions, he was one of the most competitive riders all weekend. It was just that when it rained, we struggled a bit with the setup and that affected his confidence during the race.
Most importantly, he showed incredible maturity when he chose to stay calm and bring home the points. That’s very important in a world championship.
“We believe Catalunya can be another great opportunity for Hakim Danish because he has a good record there. If we manage to get the right setup from the start, I believe he can create even bigger results this weekend,” he said.
With new confidence and valuable experience from Le Mans, Hakim Danish now looks set to provide a tougher challenge at the Catalunya GP in his quest for the best results this season.
