BMW is reportedly preparing a major contract offer to keep World Superbike (WSBK) champion Toprak Razgatlioglu from making a potential switch to MotoGP in 2026. The Turkish star, whose current deal with BMW expires at the end of this season, has emerged as one of the most sought-after riders in both WSBK and MotoGP due to his dominant performances over the past year.
According to GPOne, BMW is ready to table a new contract worth €2 million per season, including performance-based bonuses. The offer is said to be financially competitive with what Razgatlioglu could earn in MotoGP, signalling the German manufacturer’s determination to retain its star rider.
Razgatlioglu’s future remains one of the biggest talking points in the rider market, with speculation linking him to a possible MotoGP move in 2026. However, some insiders suggest he could benefit from waiting until 2027 when Pirelli takes over as MotoGP’s tyre supplier. Given his expertise with Pirelli rubber in WSBK, Razgatlioglu could gain an immediate advantage over MotoGP riders adjusting from Michelins.
The WSBK star also recently laughed off rumours that he has already agreed to join Honda’s MotoGP project in 2026. With Luca Marini currently on a Honda RC213V but out of contract after 2025, the Japanese manufacturer remains the only official MotoGP team with a potential vacancy. However, Razgatlioglu has repeatedly expressed his desire to compete in MotoGP, making his decision a pivotal moment in his career.

The two-time WSBK champion reinforced his credentials with a stunning triple victory at Portimão last weekend, closing the gap to championship leader Nicolò Bulega. His relentless form has only heightened interest from both BMW and MotoGP teams.
What’s Next? With BMW determined to keep him and MotoGP teams circling, Razgatlioglu faces a career-defining choice. Will he stay in WSBK with a lucrative BMW deal, or take the leap to MotoGP in 2026? The coming months will reveal whether the Turkish star remains a Superbike legend or becomes the next big name to challenge in Grand Prix racing.
For now, BMW is pulling out all the stops to ensure their champion stays put, but Razgatlioglu’s ambition could yet steer him toward a new adventure.
