The Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki team delivered an outstanding performance at the legendary MotoAmerica Daytona 200, with Richie Escalante securing a hard-fought second-place finish and Tyler Scott claiming third. Meanwhile, Matthew Chapin made a stunning Twins Cup debut, scoring back-to-back victories aboard the Suzuki GSX-8R.

Richie Escalante’s Runner-Up Finish

Richie Escalante, a Superbike regular for Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki, showcased his skill and determination in the Daytona 200, finishing second aboard the team’s next-generation Suzuki GSX-R750 Supersport machine. Despite a rain delay and a red flag stoppage due to a crash, Escalante remained calm and fast throughout the race, consistently battling at the front.

The Mexican-born racer credited his team’s exceptional pit stop strategy, which earlier earned them the Pitstop Challenge victory, for helping him secure the podium. Escalante edged out teammate Tyler Scott by a mere 0.08 seconds at the checkered flag to claim second place.

“Honestly, it was a difficult weekend for us,” Escalante admitted. “I didn’t have the best feeling during the weekend, especially during the Time Attack. I wasn’t confident this morning, so I said, ‘Okay, let’s go back to the setting from last year.’ And I was very strong in the race. I felt really good, and we battled with so many different riders.

“I’m happy to finish on the podium. Of course, I want to win, but that’s not always possible. I’m super happy. Big thanks to my entire Team Hammer Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki crew.”

Tyler Scott’s Strong Performance

Tyler Scott also delivered a standout performance in the Daytona 200, finishing third after starting from pole position for the second consecutive year with the GSXR 750. Scott led at various points during the race and crossed the finish line side-by-side with Escalante, securing another podium for the team.

“It was a difficult day for sure with the rain and everything, but the whole Vision Wheel M4 Suzuki team put in so much effort from the end of last season to today,” Scott said. “A lot of hard work, so much training, and a lot of testing. The bike we have here today is a way better motorcycle than we had last year, and I’m more fit than last year.

“Overall, it was a very good race. The pit stops were perfect. I can’t give enough thanks to all my guys. I’m really excited because the bike feels amazing going into the first round of the MotoAmerica Supersport championship.”

Matthew Chapin’s Twins Cup Dominance

Reigning Junior Cup champion Matthew Chapin made an electrifying debut in the Twins Cup, securing back-to-back victories aboard the GSX-8R. Chapin emerged victorious in a thrilling four-rider battle on Friday, winning by a narrow 0.087-second margin. He followed it up with an even more dramatic win on Saturday, edging out five riders by just 0.019 seconds.

“I think my whole plan was just to be patient until the last lap, let those guys fight it out at the front,” Chapin said. “I didn’t want to take any unnecessary risks; I knew I had the bike underneath me to do it. So I just used the draft at the end and got it done. Huge thanks to everyone at RevZilla, Motul, and Vance & Hines for believing in me,” he added.

A Weekend of Success

The Daytona 200 weekend was a resounding success for the Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki team, with Escalante and Scott delivering strong performances in the premier event and Chapin dominating the Twins Cup. The team’s dedication, preparation, and teamwork were on full display, setting a high standard for the rest of the season.

As the MotoAmerica Supersport championship approaches, the Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki team is poised to build on this momentum and continue their pursuit of victory. Fans can look forward to more thrilling performances from Escalante, Scott, and Chapin as they take on the challenges of the 2025 season.
