ZK Racing has once again shifted its focus to the Moto4 European Cup competition as young national rider, Qabil Irfan, will compete in Round 5 at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, Cheste, Spain, which takes place from 4 to 6 September 2026.

Representing SIC-GRYD Racing, Qabil is currently sixth in the overall championship chart with 61 points after four rounds of this season.

After going through a challenging competition in Magny-Cours, France last July, Qabil came to Ricardo Tormo with greater confidence as a result of continuous preparation and an encouraging performance in the Idemitsu Moto4 Asia Cup.

At Magny-Cours, Qabil displayed high determination when he rose from 22nd place to finish Race 1 in eighth position. In Race 2, he again started the race from 23rd place before successfully finishing in 14th place.

To ensure his performance continues to improve, Qabil continues his racing and training program through his participation in the Idemitsu Moto4 Asia Cup, which is an important platform to maintain his racing pace and consistently improve his riding skills between rounds of the Moto4 European Cup.

The effort paid off when Qabil claimed two podiums at Round 2 of the Idemitsu Moto4 Asia Cup at the Sepang International Circuit last August after finishing both races in third place.

The result also pushed Qabil to third place overall in the championship with 62 points after two rounds.

Qabil admitted that racing at Ricardo Tormo will be a new challenge as he did not compete at the circuit last season. However, he is optimistic that he will be able to adapt quickly and compete with the front group.

“Ricardo Tormo is an important race for me because I didn’t race at this circuit last year. So, I need to adapt quickly and try to get the best pace starting from the first free practice session.

“I will focus fully on the track and try to improve my times in each session. The competition in the Moto4 European Cup is very intense, so I need to make sure the time gap with the riders ahead is not too big.”

“My goal is to compete in the front group and get the best results in this week’s race,” he said.

According to Zulfahmi, the team also made several improvements to Qabil’s machinery to increase competitiveness ahead of the race at Ricardo Tormo.

“This week is an important race for Qabil in the Moto4 European Cup. Qabil did not race at Ricardo Tormo last year and has somewhat limited experience at this circuit.

“I hope Qabil can adapt quickly and be in a competitive position starting from the FP1 session. There are several improvements we have made to Qabil’s machine ahead of the race at Ricardo Tormo.”

“We hope there will be progress and we can see Qabil competing in the front group in this week’s race,” he said.

ZK Racing will continue to provide full support to Qabil throughout this season’s Moto4 European Cup campaign with the aim of helping the country’s young racer continue to develop and challenge the frontrunners in the European championship.
