Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) held firm at the front in the Motul Grand Prix of Japan. Despite relentless pressure from title rival Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing), Bagnaia took a decisive win. With just 10 points separating them, the title race is closer than ever.

Bagnaia made a strong start, taking the lead from polesitter Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3). Acosta tried to challenge but went wide, giving Bagnaia the upper hand. Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) moved into third, followed by Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) and Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™).

Jorge Martin, starting from P11, quickly joined the fight. As the race unfolded, drama hit Acosta when he crashed while chasing Bagnaia. That allowed Martin to move into second place, narrowing Bagnaia’s lead. Slowly but surely, Martin began cutting down Bagnaia’s advantage.

However, Bagnaia kept his cool and controlled the race from the front. Martin came close but instability forced him to settle for second place. The title fight remains intense, with four rounds and just 10 points between the rivals.

Behind them, Marc Marquez fought hard for the final podium spot. He duelled with Bastianini throughout but managed to keep him at bay. Despite closing the gap, Bastianini couldn’t find a way past Marquez, leaving them locked in a close battle in the standings.

In the midfield, Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac Racing) overtook Brad Binder late in the race, claiming fifth. Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) took seventh, just ahead of teammate Fabio Di Giannantonio. Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) finished ninth after Maverick Viñales crashed out earlier.

Jack Miller completed the top ten after a tough battle with Johann Zarco (CASTROL Honda LCR). Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) finished 11th, ahead of Takaaki Nakagami (IDEMITSU Honda LCR), who scored points in his final Japanese GP.

There was early race drama involving Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) and Joan Mir (Repsol Honda Team). Both riders crashed out after making contact, with Alex Marquez penalized for the incident.

With four rounds remaining, the championship is finely balanced. Bagnaia’s win reaffirms his strength under pressure, while Martin’s charge from P11 signals he’s not backing down. The fight heads to Phillip Island, where more fireworks are expected as the title race heats up further.
