BMW Motorrad Motorsport has officially announced that Brad Binder will join the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team as a factory rider for the 2027 FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) season.

The South African rider will make the move to WorldSBK after spending seven seasons competing in MotoGP, where he established himself as one of the most consistent riders on the grid. Binder will ride the BMW M 1000 RR alongside Miguel Oliveira, creating a familiar partnership between two riders who have shared the same garage throughout multiple Grand Prix categories.

The announcement marks a new chapter in Binder’s career as he takes on the challenge of adapting to a new championship, a new motorcycle, and a different style of racing.

Brad Binder’s Journey From Moto3 Champion to MotoGP Winner

Brad Binder began his international racing career in the Moto3 World Championship in 2012, quickly proving himself as one of the sport’s promising young talents.

His breakthrough came in 2016 when he secured the Moto3 World Championship title, showcasing his racecraft and consistency throughout the season. Following his success in Moto3, Binder stepped up to the Moto2 World Championship before making the jump to MotoGP in 2020.

During his time in the premier class, Binder achieved two MotoGP victories and nine additional podium finishes. Known for his aggressive riding style, strong race pace, and ability to manage difficult conditions, Binder became a key figure in KTM’s MotoGP project.

Brad Binder’s arrival also means Danilo Petrucci’s time with BMW Motorrad Motorsport’s WorldSBK project will come to an end after the 2026 season.

Petrucci has played an important role in BMW’s WorldSBK development, and the manufacturer confirmed that discussions are ongoing regarding potential future projects together.
