MKA Group, the Malaysian-based mobility group behind the globally recognised RCB brand, has announced a strategic investment in Bitubo, the Italian motorcycle suspension manufacturer with more than six decades of experience in the industry.
Founded by the Mardolo family in 1963, Bitubo has built its reputation around Italian engineering, suspension technology and motorsports. The company has since grown into an international brand, with its products used by riders, racing teams and motorcycle enthusiasts worldwide.
According to MKA Group, the investment will support Bitubo’s next phase of international growth while preserving the identity and technical heritage that have defined the brand since its establishment.
Rather than changing Bitubo’s existing direction, MKA Group plans to use its international distribution network and strong presence across Asia to help the Italian manufacturer reach new markets, particularly in Asia, America and other emerging regions.
Bitubo to Remain Italian
One of the key points highlighted by both companies is that Bitubo will continue to operate from Italy. The company will retain its existing technical expertise and continue to design, engineer, develop and manufacture its products in Italy.
MKA Group Group CEO Bruce Lee said the investment reflects the company’s confidence in Bitubo and its people, while providing the resources and international reach needed to expand the brand globally.
“We want to build on the foundation that the Mardolo family has created over generations and provide Bitubo with the resources, international reach and opportunities to achieve its full global potential,” said Lee.
The partnership will combine Bitubo’s suspension technology and Italian engineering expertise with MKA Group’s distribution capabilities and understanding of motorcycle markets, particularly across Asia.
The companies also see opportunities to strengthen research and development, product innovation and technology exchange through closer collaboration between their teams.
Stronger Presence Across Asia
Asia is expected to be one of the major focus areas for Bitubo’s expansion under the partnership. With millions of motorcycle riders across Southeast Asia, South Asia and other parts of the region, MKA Group sees significant potential for premium suspension products.
MKA Group Business & Motorsport Director Doc Dol said the investment is not simply about adding another brand to the company’s portfolio, but about creating new opportunities for Bitubo while retaining what has made the brand successful.
“Asia is home to the world’s largest motorcycle community, with millions of passionate riders seeking higher levels of performance, safety and riding enjoyment,” said Dol.
He added that MKA Group’s existing distribution network could help bring Bitubo’s suspension technology closer to riders in the region, while also creating opportunities in America and other emerging markets. At the same time, the company said it would respect Bitubo’s Italian identity and allow the brand to continue developing its products from Italy.
Motorsport Collaboration on the Cards
Motorsports will also form part of the partnership. Both RCB and Bitubo have established connections with motorcycle racing, and MKA Group believes the collaboration could create opportunities for greater exchange of racing knowledge, technology and product development.
According to Dol, combining the two companies’ racing experience could help accelerate suspension development while strengthening their focus on performance. For Bitubo, racing has been part of its identity since the company was founded more than 60 years ago.
Bitubo General Manager Gianni Mardollo welcomed the investment, saying the partnership would provide the company with greater international reach while maintaining its existing technical and manufacturing operations in Italy.
“We will continue to design, engineer, develop and manufacture our products in Italy while preserving the engineering excellence, racing heritage and product quality that define our brand,” said Mardollo.
Mardollo also highlighted Asia as an important growth opportunity, with MKA Group’s established presence in the region expected to help accelerate Bitubo’s expansion across Southeast Asia, South Asia and other emerging motorcycle markets.
Building a Global Motorcycle Ecosystem
For MKA Group, the Bitubo investment forms part of its wider strategy to build a globally connected ecosystem of premium motorcycle brands.
The company intends to combine its experience in the motorcycle industry and international distribution network with Bitubo’s suspension expertise and long-standing Italian manufacturing capabilities.
For Bitubo, the partnership provides access to new markets and resources while allowing the company to build on its more than 60 years of engineering and racing heritage.
The message from both sides is clear: Bitubo is expanding globally, but it is not moving away from its Italian roots. Its engineering, development and manufacturing will remain in Italy, while MKA Group will focus on providing the international reach and market access needed for the brand’s next stage of growth.
With the partnership now in place, both companies are looking to combine Italian suspension technology, motorsport heritage and innovation with MKA Group’s global market reach, creating a stronger platform for Bitubo’s next chapter in the international motorcycle industry.
