Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn. Bhd. (Modenas), a subsidiary of the DRB-HICOM Group, has expanded its regional presence with the official launch of the Modeas Brusky125 in Indonesia.
The Malaysian-built scooter made its Indonesian debut at Jakarta Fair 2026, held at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) at the end of June. The Brusky 125 will be exported as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) model and distributed locally by PT Kawasaki Motor Indonesia (PT KMI).
The latest expansion marks the second export market for the Brusky 125 following its successful introduction in the Philippines in 2024, highlighting the continued collaboration between Modenas and Kawasaki in bringing Malaysian-manufactured motorcycles to consumers across Southeast Asia.
Modenas Chief Executive Officer Roslan Roskan described the Indonesian launch as a significant step in the company’s export journey through their partnership with Kawasaki. The collaboration has opened up a pathway for Modenas to reach consumers overseas, supported by Kawasaki’s local market knowledge, distribution capabilities, and after-sales network.
Roslan also added that, “This latest development represents another step in strengthening Modenas as a Malaysian motorcycle manufacturer with the capability to support regional markets. It shows how collaboration across manufacturing, distribution and customer support can create practical opportunities for expansion.”
“Our approach is to expand progressively and responsibly, ensuring the necessary sales, servicing and spare parts support are in place for customers in every market,” he said.

The Brusky 125 also represents a new chapter for PT Kawasaki Motor Indonesia, becoming the company’s first scooter model to be marketed in Indonesia. Kawasaki will oversee the model’s nationwide sales, distribution and after-sales services through its existing dealership network, providing customers with comprehensive local support.
The scooter’s successful performance in the Philippines, where Kawasaki Motors Philippines Corporation (KMPC) has already supplied over 25,000 units since its launch, is followed by its debut in Indonesia. The first customer deliveries of the Brusky 125 are anticipated to start in September 2026, with pre-orders opening during Jakarta Fair 2026.
Looking ahead, Modenas said it will continue working closely with Kawasaki to explore additional regional export opportunities while maintaining a measured expansion strategy based on market demand, distribution readiness and customer support capabilities.
