Last time, we talked about the fastest Yamaha bikes ever made, so now it’s time for another Japanese giant, Honda.
Honda may be famous for reliability and daily-friendly machines, but make no mistake, the brand has also produced some of the fastest and most legendary superbikes in motorcycle history.
From WorldSBK homologation specials to MotoGP-inspired monsters, here are the top 6 fastest road-legal Honda bikes ever built.

1. Honda RC213V-S
Honda RC213V-S is easily the most extreme road-legal motorcycle Honda has ever produced. This hand-built machine is basically a MotoGP bike with mirrors and number plates. Inspired directly by Honda’s championship-winning RC213V race machine, the RC213V-S carries the same aggressive riding position, mass-centralized chassis and premium carbon-fiber bodywork.
In standard form, the bike already produces around 146 to 159 hp, but once fitted with the track-only Sports Race Kit, output jumps to over 212 hp.
- Top Speed: 300+ km/h
- Engine: 999cc V4
What makes this bike so special is not just the speed, but how close it feels to an actual MotoGP prototype. Even today, it remains one of the rarest and most expensive Hondas ever sold.

2. Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP
Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP is currently Honda’s ultimate production superbike and arguably the most track-focused Fireblade ever created.
Powered by a screaming 999cc inline-four engine, the RR-R SP borrows heavily from Honda’s MotoGP technology, including aerodynamic winglets, lightweight internals and advanced electronics.
It also comes equipped with premium Öhlins electronic suspension and Brembo braking systems straight from the factory.
- Top Speed: 299 km/h
- Engine: 999cc inline-four
Unlike older Fireblades that balanced road and track comfort, the RR-R SP is built with one mission — maximum performance.

3. Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird
Before the Hayabusa wars began, there was the legendary Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird.
Introduced in the late 1990s, Honda specifically built the Blackbird to dethrone Kawasaki’s ZX-11 as the world’s fastest production motorcycle.
And it worked. With a smooth yet brutally fast 1137cc inline-four engine, the Super Blackbird became famous for combining ridiculous speed with long-distance touring comfort.
- Top Speed: 290 km/h
- Engine: 1137cc inline-four
Even today, many riders still consider the Blackbird one of the best high-speed sport-tourers ever made.

4. Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade
Before the arrival of the RR-R generation, the standard Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade was already one of the best litre-class motorcycles on the market.
Fast, lightweight and surprisingly easy to ride, the Fireblade built its reputation by offering both everyday usability and track-ready performance.
Its balanced chassis and predictable power delivery made it popular among both experienced riders and newcomers stepping into the superbike category.
- Top Speed: 286 km/h
- Engine: 999cc inline-four
It may not be as extreme as the modern RR-R, but the Fireblade remains one of Honda’s most iconic motorcycles ever.

5. Honda VTR1000 SP1 / SP2 (RC51)
Known globally as the RC51, the Honda VTR1000 SP2 was Honda’s answer to Ducati in the World Superbike Championship.
Unlike Honda’s usual inline-four superbikes, the RC51 used a powerful V-twin engine designed specifically for racing homologation. The result was a raw, aggressive machine packed with torque and race-bike character.
- Top Speed: 280 km/h
- Engine: 999cc V-twin
Thanks to its racing pedigree and limited production numbers, the RC51 has become a highly sought-after collector’s bike today.

6. Honda CBR600RR
Rounding out the list is the legendary Honda CBR600RR, one of the most famous supersport motorcycles ever built.
Powered by a high-revving 599cc inline-four engine, the CBR600RR became known for razor-sharp handling, lightweight agility and its iconic under-tail exhaust design.
Even though it produces less outright power compared to litre bikes, the CBR600RR remains incredibly fast on both road and track.
- Top Speed: 257 km/h
- Engine: 599cc inline-four
For many riders, this is still one of the best middleweight sportbikes ever made. Honda’s performance history proves the brand is much more than just reliable commuter motorcycles.
From MotoGP-inspired exotica to legendary superbikes that shaped entire generations, Honda has consistently produced some of the fastest and most iconic machines the motorcycle world has ever seen.
