As the ink dries on Jack Miller’s contract with Pramac Yamaha, the full lineup for the 2025 MotoGP season has now been confirmed. The grid will feature a solid 11 teams and 22 riders, all geared up for what promises to be a thrilling contest in the pinnacle of motorcycle racing.
Ducati’s Strategic Formations
The Ducati Lenovo Team boasts a strong pairing with Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez as teammates. The combination of Bagnaia, a two-time MotoGP Champion, with the eight-time champion Marquez, sets up a potent team that might either lead the series or experience internal competition based on their synergy on the track.

Further changes within Ducati see VR46 rising as the new factory-supported satellite team, succeeding the Yamaha-bound Pramac. Fabio di Giannantonio stays on with VR46, now under a direct contract with Ducati and upgraded to factory-spec bikes. Franco Morbidelli makes a switch from Pramac to VR46, taking over from Marco Bezzecchi who shifts to a new role.
Emerging Moto2 star Fermin Aldeguer is set to make his premier class debut, teaming up with Alex Marquez at Gresini Racing. This move follows Marc Marquez’s transition to the factory Ducati team from Gresini.
New Dynamics at Aprilia and Yamaha
Aprilia is undergoing significant changes with Aleix Espargaro retiring and Maverick Vinales moving to KTM Tech3. Jorge Martin steps in to take Espargaro’s place, with Marco Bezzecchi coming in from VR46 to fill the vacancy left by Vinales. Japanese rider Ai Ogura joins from Moto2, partnering with Raul Fernandez at the US-backed Trackhouse team, now branded Aprilia.
Yamaha retains its four-bike presence on the grid for 2025, reintroducing Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins at Monster Energy Yamaha. Miguel Oliveira and Jack Miller will represent the Prima Pramac Factory Yamaha Team, with Oliveira securing a two-year contract and Miller a one-year deal.
KTM and Honda’s Strategic Moves
KTM confirms its four-rider lineup, locking Brad Binder until 2026 and promoting Pedro Acosta to the factory team from Tech3 GASGAS. Enea Bastianini and Maverick Vinales will lead the newly branded Red Bull KTM Tech3 team.
Honda maintains a stable roster, continuing with Joan Mir and Luca Marini at Repsol Honda, despite challenges. Johann Zarco remains at LCR Honda, joined by newcomer Somkiat Chantra, a Thai rider from the Moto2 ranks, replacing Takaaki Nakagami who transitions to a test rider role, alongside Aleix Espargaro.
