KTM has unveiled the 2027 KTM 790 Duke, introducing a series of updates aimed at improving rider comfort, handling and overall performance. The latest version of the middleweight naked bike receives revised ergonomics, chassis refinements and a refreshed design that aligns it with the styling of the larger 990 Duke and 1390 Super Duke R.
The changes focus on creating a more connected riding experience while maintaining the lively performance that has made the 790 Duke a favourite among street riders.

Improved ergonomics for greater rider control
One of the most significant updates to the 2027 KTM 790 Duke is its redesigned rider triangle, which refers to the relationship between the handlebars, seat and foot pegs.
A newly shaped handlebar features a more open angle, while the rider and passenger foot pegs have been repositioned to create a more natural riding posture. KTM has also redesigned the seat to improve comfort and rider connection with the motorcycle.
These updates are intended to provide better front-end feedback, improved chassis feel and greater rider confidence, particularly during spirited riding or cornering.

Chassis refinements and lighter overall weight
KTM has also introduced several structural updates to complement the revised ergonomics. The 2027 790 Duke receives new triple clamps, a redesigned sub-frame and a newly shaped fuel tank, all of which contribute to improved rider positioning and control. In addition, the motorcycle is now 2 kg lighter, helping to enhance agility and overall handling.
On the styling front, the naked bike receives a refreshed appearance with a new LED headlight design, streamlined bodywork and a larger front fairing, giving it a more aggressive look that closely resembles its larger Duke siblings.

New WP radial brakes and updated suspension
Braking performance has also been upgraded with an all-new set of WP radial-mounted front brake calipers, developed in-house by KTM.
According to the manufacturer, the new braking system delivers stronger stopping power while requiring less effort at the brake lever. KTM says the setup has also been tuned to provide a smoother, more progressive brake feel without an overly aggressive initial bite, improving rider confidence and control.
Suspension duties continue to be handled by WP Apex components, although both ends have received revised settings to further improve handling characteristics.
At the front, the 790 Duke is equipped with 43 mm WP Apex upside-down forks offering 150 mm of travel, complete with rebound and compression adjustment. At the rear, a WP Apex monoshock provides 170 mm of travel, with rebound damping and preload adjustment available.

Proven 799 cc engine remains unchanged
Powering the 2027 KTM 790 Duke is the same 799 cc DOHC parallel-twin engine found in the previous model. The liquid-cooled, eight-valve engine continues to produce a claimed 105 hp at 9,000 rpm and 87 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm, while an A2 licence-compatible version is available with 95 hp.
Power is delivered through a six-speed transmission paired with KTM’s Power Assist Slipper Clutch, while the standard up-and-down quickshifter is integrated into the shift shaft. Final drive remains chain-operated.

2027 KTM 790 Duke builds on an already capable platform
Rather than introducing major mechanical changes, KTM has focused on refining the overall riding experience with the 2027 790 Duke. Improved ergonomics, updated chassis components, stronger brakes and refreshed styling combined to make the latest model a more polished and rider-focused middleweight naked motorcycle while retaining the performance characteristics that have defined the Duke lineup.
