Round 6 of the PETRONAS MAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship in the CP150 category saw a masterclass performance from Ahmad Afif Amran of PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA – CKJ RACING, who stormed to a flawless win at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit (South). His teammate, Md Akid Aziz, completed a sensational day for CKJ Racing by securing second place, handing the team a commanding one-two finish.

Afif wasted no time at the start, grabbing the holeshot as the lights went out and immediately coming under pressure from Md Hafiza Rofa (TKKR RACING TEAM) and teammate Akid. Chasing close behind were Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin (PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA MAJU MOTOR) and Md Faiz Zekri Sabri (ATAS AHM MOTOR SPORTS), forming an early leading group that pulled away from the rest.

By Lap 3, Afif made his intentions clear, setting the fastest lap at 1’16.037s and steadily building a gap. Hafiza, who was running strongly in second, was forced out due to technical issues, opening the fight for podium spots wide open. This sparked an intense battle between Md Fareez Afeez (JETRON YAMAHA YYPANG RACING TEAM), Shahrol Syazras and Azroy Hakeem Anuar (HONDA ESTREMO YUZY RACING), along with Md Helmi Azman (MAEZTRO SCK HONDA RACING TEAM).

While chaos unfolded behind, Afif remained untouchable out front. By Lap 10, he had stretched his lead to a massive eight seconds, riding in complete control. The real drama came from the chasing pack, where Azroy, Helmi, and Faiz traded positions in a thrilling scrap. In the final laps, Akid dug deep, mounting a late charge to snatch second place, completing CKJ Racing’s perfect weekend.

Afif crossed the line in 14’03.643s, comfortably ahead of Akid in 14’11.228s, with Azroy sealing third just 0.091s behind. Helmi finished fourth in 14’11.401s, while Md Iqbal Amri Abdul Malek (TKKR RACING TEAM) rounded out the top five in 14’11.439s.

Speaking after his dominant win, Afif said: “I tried to push from the very start. Once I noticed the second group beginning to drop back a little, I made the decision to break away earlier. Alhamdulillah, that strategy paid off all the way to the finish line. I was able to stay clear and take this win.”
