Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin of PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA MAJU MOTOR delivered a masterclass performance to claim victory in the CP150 category at Round 2 of the PETRONAS MAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship 2025 this afternoon at the Tangkak Racing Circuit.

The 21-year-old rider, who had earlier secured pole position with a blistering Super Pole lap time of 43.364s, carried his momentum into the race, leading from start to finish. Ahmad Afif Amran (PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA – CKJ RACING) and Azroy Hakeem Anuar (HONDA ESTREMO YUZY RACING) completed the front row in qualifying but were unable to match Kasma’s pace in the wet conditions.

Kasma launched off the line flawlessly, immediately establishing himself at the front, with Afif and teammate Nazirul Izzat Md Bahauddin in close pursuit. By the second lap, the leading trio had already built a 1.264s gap over the chasing pack.

The race saw a dramatic twist in the closing stages when Nazirul crashed out at the final corner with just two laps remaining, promoting Md Helmi Azman (MAEZTRO SCK HONDA RACING TEAM) to third. Kasma, however, remained untouchable, crossing the finish line in 11’11.389s, 1.644s ahead of Afif (11’13.033s), while Helmi secured the final podium spot with a time of 11’15.441s.

“My dream came true this time,” said an elated Kasma. “From day one, we were already at the top. I really wanted to win at my home ground, especially since it’s been a long time since my last victory here. Alhamdulillah, with the help of my team, who believed in me and prepared a solid machine, I finally managed to win at home today. I will continue to push until the end of the season.”

The top five was rounded out by Md Akid Aziz (PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA – CKJ RACING) in fourth and Azroy Hakeem Anuar in fifth. The championship now heads to its next round, with Kasma establishing himself as an early title contender.
