Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has officially announced the signing of Fabio Di Giannantonio on a multi-year MotoGP contract beginning with the 2027 season, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for both the Italian rider and the Austrian manufacturer.
The 27-year-old Roman will join the factory team aboard the KTM RC16, bringing proven race-winning experience and consistent front-running pace as KTM continues its pursuit of MotoGP success.
Proven winner across every Grand Prix category
Di Giannantonio, affectionately known as “Diggia”, is among a select group of riders currently on the MotoGP grid to have claimed victories in Moto3, Moto2, and MotoGP. Since making his premier-class debut in 2022, the Italian has steadily established himself as one of the championship’s most competitive riders.
His Grand Prix career began in 2016, before finishing runner-up in the 2018 Moto3 World Championship. After stepping up to Moto2, he quickly adapted by securing podium finishes during his rookie campaign and later claimed his first victory in the intermediate class during his third season.
Di Giannantonio’s breakthrough in MotoGP came in 2023, when he celebrated his maiden premier-class victory at the Qatar Grand Prix after earning his first MotoGP podium earlier that season in Australia.

Strong 2026 form earns KTM’s confidence
The Italian’s impressive performances throughout the 2026 MotoGP season played a key role in KTM’s decision to secure his services. After ten rounds, Di Giannantonio sits inside the top three of the championship standings, having collected three Grand Prix podium finishes, including one victory, alongside four Sprint podiums.
His consistency and ability to fight at the front have made him one of the leading title contenders and one of the sport’s most highly rated riders.
KTM confident Di Giannantonio will strengthen factory project
KTM Motorsports Director Pit Beirer believes Di Giannantonio possesses all the qualities needed to become a valuable addition to the factory squad.
“Fabio has clearly made a step to become one of the consistent front-running guys in MotoGP. We cannot question his speed and commitment to delivering the best performance,” said Beirer.
“He is a strong team player and a good guy, that we know will fit easily into our Red Bull KTM Factory Racing project. During our talks we were impressed by how passionate he is to give the maximum on track and off it, and we believe the next chapter together will be exciting and memorable. Welcome Fabio.”
With Di Giannantonio joining the factory outfit from 2027 onwards, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing is making a clear statement about its long-term ambitions, placing its trust in one of MotoGP’s most consistent and rapidly developing talents to help lead the team into a new era.
