Hakim Danish Ramli managed to collect valuable points at the Moto3 World Championship round at the German Grand Prix (GP) after finishing the race at the Sachsenring Circuit in 12th position, despite facing a challenging weekend.
The AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSi team rider took home four championship, thus maintaining his position in the top 10 overall after 11 rounds this season.

Challenge begins during training session
Hakim Danish’s preparation at Sachsenring was not an easy one as he and the team struggled to find the best machine settings throughout Free Practice 1 (FP1), Practice and FP2.
The main problem faced was vibration at the front of the bike, which affected confidence and performance when entering corners. In addition, the team was also working to get the right level of rear tire grip for the race.
The effort finally paid off in qualifying when the use of soft tyres gave Hakim Danish more confidence. With reduced grip issues, he managed to set a competitive time to qualify in third place on the front row.

A convincing start before losing momentum
Hakim Danish started the 23-lap race well enough when he jumped into second position as soon as the green light went out before finishing the first lap in sixth place.
He continued to compete with the front group for the first few laps before starting to lose a few positions due to rear tire grip problems.
Although the front end vibration issue was successfully addressed during the race, the lack of rear tire grip made it difficult for Hakim Danish to maintain speed when exiting corners. However, he continued to fight to control his machine in the challenging conditions and managed to improve his position before finishing the race in 12th place with a time of 33 minutes 19.287 seconds.

Remain in the best group of the championship
The results at Sachsenring sees Hakim Danish now collecting 86 points overall, maintaining seventh position in the Moto3 World Championship standings after 11 rounds.
In the Rookie of the Year competition, he is also in third place with the same number of points, just four points behind Indonesian rider Veda Pratama. Meanwhile, Brian Uriarte continues to lead the rookie chart with 127 points.

Hakim Danish considers the Sachsenring a valuable experience
Although the results at the German GP did not meet the set targets, Hakim Danish considered the race an important experience to increase his maturity as a racer.
According to him, the challenge of operating a motorcycle with low grip levels provided many lessons that can be used in future races.
“Overall, this weekend was quite challenging for me. In every session I struggled with the machine because I experienced vibration problems every time I entered the corner. However, the team never gave up and continued to try to find a solution in every session.
“During qualifying, using the soft tyres helped me get better times. However, in the race, I didn’t get a good feel for the rear tyre grip. Every time I opened the throttle, the bike almost high-sided and I couldn’t keep up with the riders in front.
“I will make this race a very valuable experience. I will continue to improve my weaknesses, work harder and fight to give better results in the next race. Thank you to all the sponsors, especially AEON Credit, the team and the supporters in Malaysia,” said Hakim Danish.

The team is confident that performance will continue to improve
SIC Racing Team Manager, Zulfahmi Khairuddin, admitted that the result at Sachsenring didn’t meet their main target, but believed that the race was part of an important learning process for the country’s young racer.
He explained that the team managed to resolve the vibration problem ahead of the qualifying session, allowing Hakim Danish to start in third place. However, his performance during the race was still affected by the rear tyre grip problem.
“Overall, the weekend at Sachsenring can be considered positive, but the ending was not as we had hoped. Since FP1, Hakim has been struggling with a vibration problem on the front of the bike, which has affected his confidence.
“By the time we qualified, we had managed to find a solution and the use of soft tyres helped Hakim secure third place. However, I had expected our race pace to not be competitive enough.”
“12th place was not our target, but I see this result as part of the learning process. What is most important is that Hakim continues to mature in controlling the machine when the grip level is not at its best. We will continue to work hard so that he returns to be more competitive in the next race,” he said.
With still a long season ahead, Hakim Danish will now focus on the next round while bringing with him confidence that the experience at Sachsenring can be an important foundation to continue improving his performance in the Moto3 World Championship.
