Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (MODENAS), a member of the DRB-HICOM Group, has officially introduced several product improvements for the MODENAS Z15GT, together with new colours and graphics for the 150cc motorcycle.
Despite the updates, the Z15GT continues to be priced at RM8,288, excluding road tax, insurance and registration. The latest colour options, Lime Green and Amazon Green, will be available at authorised MODENAS dealerships nationwide from 10 September 2026.
The updated Z15GT units incorporate the latest improvements introduced through the Z15GT Care Programme. The updates cover several areas of the motorcycle, with the main focus on improving protection against water exposure and strengthening selected components.
The overflow tray now features improved drainage, while additional coating and sealant have been applied around the ignition knob switch. MODENAS has also revised the injector cap bolt and collar as part of the updates.
At the front, the brake lever now features a low-level indicator line, while the side-cover snap fittings have been reinforced for improved durability. Additional socket covers have also been added to provide better protection for the wiring harness against water exposure. Meanwhile, the solder points inside both the left- and right-hand switch pods have received additional protection.
Despite these changes, there are no mechanical updates to the powertrain. The Z15GT continues to use a 149.5cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC four-valve engine, producing 16.8 hp at 9,500 rpm and 13.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed constant-mesh gearbox and wet multi-plate clutch, with power transferred to the rear wheel through a chain final drive.
The motorcycle continues to use a backbone frame, telescopic front fork and rear monoshock. Braking comes from hydraulic discs at both ends, with single-channel ABS on the front wheel. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels fitted with 90/80-17 front and 120/70-17 rear tyres.
Other specifications also remain unchanged, including a 5.7-litre fuel tank, 780mm seat height, 1,315mm wheelbase, 140mm ground clearance and 128kg kerb weight. In terms of equipment, the Z15GT comes with a smart key with answer-back function, LCD instrumentation, LED lighting and a USB power socket.
The LCD instrument panel displays information including speed, engine rpm, gear position, fuel level, engine temperature warning, trip information, clock and battery voltage.
With the latest improvements and new colour options, the MODENAS Z15GT continues to target riders looking for a lightweight 150cc motorcycle for everyday use, while retaining its existing engine and chassis package.
