CFMOTO has achieved a major milestone in the superbike world after its highly anticipated V4 SR-RR concept recorded a GPS-verified top speed of 315.82 km/h (196.2 mph), making it the fastest Chinese internal combustion motorcycle ever recorded.
The achievement marks another significant step for the Chinese manufacturer, which has spent the past decade transforming itself from a value-focused motorcycle brand into a serious player in the global performance motorcycle market.
First unveiled at EICMA, the V4 SR-RR immediately grabbed headlines thanks to its ambitious specifications, including a V4 engine, active aerodynamics and a claimed output exceeding 210 horsepower. Now, with a verified speed exceeding 315 km/h, the concept has proven it is much more than just a showpiece.
Entering Elite Superbike Territory
While the V4 SR-RR remains a concept, its performance figures place it firmly among some of the fastest motorcycles in the world. The motorcycle is powered by a 997cc V4 engine producing a claimed 212 horsepower, allowing it to surpass the 300 km/h barrier with ease.
Its verified speed of 315.82 km/h puts it ahead of many production superbikes currently available on the market and remarkably close to the performance levels of some of the industry’s most established names.
For comparison, the Ducati Panigale V4, one of the benchmark superbikes in the segment, produces around 216 horsepower and reaches speeds approaching 299 km/h. The Aprilia RSV4 Factory, another V4-powered superbike renowned for its performance credentials, is capable of approximately 305 km/h.
That means the CFMOTO V4 SR-RR has already demonstrated straight-line performance beyond both motorcycles.

Surprisingly Close to MotoGP Speeds
Perhaps even more impressive is how close the V4 SR-RR comes to the fastest MotoGP machinery. The current MotoGP top speed record stands at 368.6 km/h, achieved by Jorge Martin aboard an Aprilia MotoGP machine at Mugello earlier this year.
Although the V4 SR-RR remains around 53 km/h slower than the outright MotoGP record, the comparison highlights just how far motorcycle technology from China has progressed in a relatively short period.
MotoGP bikes are purpose-built racing prototypes developed with factory budgets worth millions of dollars and designed exclusively for circuit competition.
The fact that a Chinese-built superbike concept can even be mentioned in the same conversation demonstrates the scale of CFMOTO’s achievement.

More Than Just a Speed Record
Of course, very few riders will ever experience speeds approaching 315 km/h on public roads. However, the significance of the V4 SR-RR goes far beyond its top-speed figure. The project represents a statement of intent from CFMOTO and showcases the company’s engineering capabilities at the highest level.
Not long ago, the idea of a Chinese manufacturer developing a V4-powered superbike capable of challenging established European and Japanese brands would have seemed unrealistic. Today, CFMOTO has produced a motorcycle that is not only competing in that space but attracting attention from enthusiasts around the world.
Technology Focused
Beyond the impressive speed figure, the V4 SR-RR is packed with advanced technology. The concept features active aerodynamic winglets designed to optimize downforce and stability at high speeds, while the chassis and electronics package are heavily influenced by modern superbike and racing technology.
Although CFMOTO has yet to reveal complete production specifications, the company has confirmed the motorcycle features:
- A 997cc V4 engine
- Claimed output of more than 210 hp
- Active aerodynamic winglets
- Race-inspired chassis technology
- GPS-verified top speed of 315.82 km/h
A Glimpse Into the Future
The V4 SR-RR remains a concept for now, and CFMOTO has not announced a production timeline. However, its record-breaking performance suggests the company is serious about entering the premium superbike segment and competing directly with some of the industry’s biggest names.
With a verified top speed of 315.82 km/h and technology that rivals established superbike manufacturers, the V4 SR-RR has already become one of the most talked-about motorcycles of the year. Regardless of its production future, CFMOTO has signaled that it is no longer merely chasing the superbike elite; it is now actively participating in the global dialogue.
