CHIGEE Launches XR-1 Motorcycle Dash Cam in Malaysia

CHIGEE has officially introduced the XR-1, a compact motorcycle dash cam designed for riders who want reliable video recording and added security without compromising the clean look of their motorcycle. Now available through CHIGEE’s official website, the new dash cam is priced at RM901 in Malaysia. 

Unlike larger display-based recording systems, the XR-1 is designed to operate discreetly in the background. The system automatically starts recording the moment the motorcycle is switched on, capturing both front and rear footage continuously without requiring any rider interaction.

To make operation even simpler, the XR-1 provides voice notifications that confirm recording status, SD card condition, camera connectivity and any system errors before the ride begins. Voice prompts are currently available in English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese and Korean, giving riders confidence that the system is functioning correctly before setting off.

The dash cam features loop recording, which automatically overwrites the oldest files once the storage card becomes full, eliminating the need for manual file management. 

CHIGEE has also equipped the XR-1 with several safety-focused functions. Its Emergency Lock feature automatically detects sudden impacts or abnormal movement, instantly locking the current video file to prevent it from being overwritten. The system is also designed to preserve footage even if the motorcycle suddenly loses power during an accident. 

When the motorcycle is parked, the Parking Guard function continues monitoring the surroundings. Operating through a low-power standby mode, the system automatically wakes to record incidents such as impacts, attempted theft, tip-overs or hit-and-run accidents while the owner is away.

Powering the XR-1 is a 64-bit Arm Cortex-A53 processor, the same platform used in CHIGEE’s flagship AIO-6 smart riding display. The processor enables Full HD 1080p recording at up to 60 frames per second, supported by Smart HDR, a 136-degree wide-angle lens, and electronic image stabilisation to produce smoother and clearer footage in varying riding conditions.

Sharing videos is also designed to be quick and convenient. Recorded footage can be transferred directly to the CHIGEE GO smartphone application via a dedicated 5GHz Wi-Fi connection, offering transfer speeds exceeding 10MB/s for fast downloads and sharing.

Built to withstand harsh riding environments, the XR-1 carries an IP69K rating for the main control unit, while both cameras are rated IP68 for water and dust resistance. The system uses a PC+TPU dual-shot housing combined with an aluminium-alloy heat dissipation structure, allowing it to withstand heavy rain, vibration, extreme temperatures and even high-pressure washing.

For riders looking for additional functionality, CHIGEE also offers an optional GPS Remote Control, which adds handlebar-mounted controls together with GPS ride tracking capabilities.
