Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah continued his dominant run in the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) 2026 after claiming another impressive victory in the ASB1000 Race 2 at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand.
Representing JDT Racing Team, Hafizh delivered a composed and calculated performance to fend off strong pressure from the Honda riders, securing his fourth consecutive victory of the season and maintaining his winning momentum in the championship.
Strong start from Honda riders
At the start of the race, Muhammad Zaqhwan Zaidi from IDEMITSU Honda Racing Malaysia made an excellent launch to take the early lead. He was followed closely by teammate Azroy Hakeem Anuar, while Hafizh settled into third place during the opening lap.
Thailand’s Nakarin Atiratphuvapat of Honda Racing Thailand occupied fourth position, with Keito Abe from SDG HARC-PRO. Honda Philippines completing the top five. However, the race quickly intensified as Hafizh began applying pressure at the front.

Hafizh takes control of the race
By Lap 2, Hafizh successfully overtook Zaqhwan to move into the lead, while Azroy remained close behind in third. The leading pack stayed tightly grouped as Keito and Nakarin continued to challenge from behind.
Hafizh showed impressive pace throughout the race and clocked a fastest lap time of 1’35.788s on Lap 4 while defending several overtaking attempts from Zaqhwan.
The battle for the podium became even more intense when Keito briefly overtook Azroy for third place before the Malaysian rider reclaimed his position shortly after.
On Lap 5, Azroy responded with an even faster lap time of 1’35.673s and reached a top speed of 299.2km/h, allowing the leading trio to pull away from the chasing riders.
A lap later, Azroy managed to pass Zaqhwan for second place and immediately began chasing down Hafizh at the front.
Dramatic crash changes race outcome
The turning point of the race came on Lap 8 when Azroy crashed at Turn 8 while pushing hard to close the gap to Hafizh.
The incident promoted Zaqhwan back into second place, with Keito moving up to third and Nakarin advancing to fourth.
Despite relentless pressure from the Honda riders throughout the race, Hafizh remained calm and consistent. By Lap 10, the JDT Racing Team rider had extended his advantage to more than three seconds while maintaining strong pace and a top speed of 295.9km/h.
The battle for the remaining podium positions continued until the final lap. Keito overtook Zaqhwan for second place on Lap 11, while Nakarin also moved ahead of the Malaysian rider during the closing stages.
Unfortunately for Zaqhwan, his race ended dramatically after crashing at the final corner while attempting an aggressive move.

Fourth straight victory for Hafizh
Unchallenged at the front, Hafizh crossed the finish line with a winning time of 24’01.995s, securing another crucial victory for JDT Racing Team.
Keito Abe finished second in 24’04.743s, while home rider Nakarin Atiratphuvapat completed the podium in third with a time of 24’05.477s.
Speaking after the race, Hafizh credited his preparation and calm approach for the victory.
“I made a good start and entered the first corner in third position. During the middle of the race, I struggled a little because the bike felt different due to the changing conditions, but I stayed calm and managed the situation.”
He also dedicated the victory to his team and supporters.
“Achieving four wins in a row feels really special. This victory is for my team, my boss HRH Tunku Mahkota Ismail, and everyone who has supported me. Hard work pays off, and I’ll continue pushing for the rest of the season.”
