The QJMotor Factory Racing Team is finally ready to begin their campaign in the Supersport World Championship as the SRK 800 RS has now received official homologation approval. The Chinese team will make their first appearance of the season at the Assen Circuit in the Netherlands, after missing the opening round in Portimão.
Previous delays were due to technical and bureaucratic issues, but QJMotor managed to overcome them by producing the minimum number of motorcycles required for the market. According to FMI regulations, at least 250 units must be produced for the model to be approved for racing.
Season debut at Assen with two leading riders
With those hurdles now overcome, QJMotor will take to the track this weekend with its two riders, Raffaele De Rosa and Marcos Ramirez. De Rosa will begin his third season with the team with the goal of immediately pursuing competitive performance.
The Italian rider admitted that the lack of testing sessions may be an initial challenge, but he is optimistic that he will quickly regain his rhythm.
“After the winter tests, we didn’t have the chance to test the SRK 800 RS again. So in Assen, the most important thing was to regain the compatibility with the machine,” said De Rosa. “I’m familiar with this circuit and I really like it. We’ll try to be competitive from the start, although it might take a few races before we reach our real target.”

New challenge for Ramirez in Supersport
For Marcos Ramirez, the race at Assen will be a new beginning as he makes his debut in the Supersport World Championship after six seasons in Moto2.
The Spanish rider expressed his excitement to finally race on the team’s new machine. “Since joining the QJMotor Factory Racing Team, I have been looking forward to the opportunity to race the SRK 800 RS, and now the time has come,” he said. “We have been working hard all winter to develop this machine and get it ready to compete. I know the Assen circuit and hope to find the best settings quickly.”
With machinery that is now legal to use and a line-up of experienced riders, QJMotor appears ready to challenge in the Supersport competition this season, starting at one of the most iconic circuits on the world racing calendar.
