Production has officially begun at Ducati’s Borgo Panigale plant for the new Monster. This model marks the fifth generation of the famous naked bike. Since 1992, the Monster has carried a simple idea: “Everything you need, nothing more.” That idea created a global community of riders known as the Monsteristi. For more than 30 years, they have kept the Monster spirit alive.

The 2026 Monster comes with a full redesign. Yet, it still carries the style that made the name iconic. It brings back the classic headlight, the bison-back tank shape, the one-piece seat, and the short rear section. These details link the new model to the very first Monster. At the same time, its cleaner lines and modern finishes give it a fresh, contemporary look.

The bike uses a new V2 engine that is slim and light. It features IVT (Intake Variable Timing) technology. This setup helps the engine stay smooth at low rpm, strong in the mid-range, and powerful at higher speeds. Ducati says that 80% of the bike’s maximum torque is available from 4,000 to 10,000 rpm. Another highlight is the long 45,000 km valve clearance interval. It is one of the best in its class and helps keep maintenance costs low.

The Monster uses the engine as part of the frame. It also gets a monocoque structure, a double-sided swingarm inspired by the Panigale V4, and a technopolymer-trellis rear subframe. Thanks to these parts and the lighter engine, the new Monster drops 4 kg. It now weighs just 175 kg dry, making it the lightest four-valve Monster ever.

Showa suspension helps deliver comfort in daily riding and stability on twisty roads. The bike stays easy to handle, safe, and fun in all conditions. Ducati also updated the riding position. The standard seat height is now 815 mm. Riders can lower it to 775 mm with the optional low seat and lowering kit. The handlebar is higher and positioned slightly forward. This setup improves control and comfort, especially for new riders.

The bike comes with four Riding Modes: Sport, Road, Urban, and Wet. It also includes Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control, and cornering ABS. The electronic features are easy to manage through new handlebar switches and a 5-inch TFT screen. The display supports Ducati Multimedia System and Turn-by-Turn navigation. It also offers day/night mode and two new info layouts for clearer reading.

Ducati Performance offers many accessories for riders who want a unique look. These include carbon fiber parts, machined aluminum details, and an Alcantara sport seat. Riders who want more sound and style can choose Termignoni silencers with titanium sleeves and carbon end caps. They also reduce the bike’s weight by 0.2 kg.

The new Monster will reach Ducati dealerships in February 2026. Other countries will follow. It will be available in Ducati Red and Iceberg White. Both the Monster and Monster+ versions will be offered. The Monster+ adds a windshield and a passenger seat cover. Ducati will also release a 35 kW version for A2 licence riders.
