Tony Cairoli ends his career after this season

 Tony Cairoli will put an end to his extensive career at the end of this MXGP World Championship season.

Cairoli is taking his last motocross steps at the highest level. On Tuesday, the Italian veteran announced that he would end his career at the end of this MXGP World Championship.

The Red Bull KTM man made the announcement at a joint press conference with the directors of the Austrian constructor, which he featured in six of the nine world titles he has won. He had his first season in 2010 with KTM soon crowned with the first KTM title in the premier class, followed by five more titles until 2017. As he approaches his 36th year, Cairoli is still fighting for a title in 2021, right now in third place – he’s KTM’s best – 29 points behind Tim Gajser (Team HRC), the current World MXGP leader.
