Aprilia Racing heads to Australia this weekend as the 2026 MotoGP World Championship enters its eighteenth round at the legendary Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. Riders Jorge Martín and Marco Bezzecchi will be aiming to continue their strong form at one of the sport’s most iconic venues.
The Australian Grand Prix marks the latest stop on MotoGP’s flyaway tour and is expected to be the final premier-class race at Phillip Island before the championship’s planned move to Adelaide next season.

Martín Targets Strong Result as Championship Leader
Jorge Martín arrives in Australia with momentum on his side after an impressive weekend at the Indonesian Grand Prix. The Spaniard finished fourth in the Sprint Race before securing third place in the main race, allowing him to reclaim the lead in the MotoGP riders’ standings with 355 championship points.
With the title battle entering its final stages, Martín knows every point will be crucial over the remaining rounds of the season.
“After Indonesia, it’s clearer than ever that this championship will be fought out between the top three. We arrive in Australia with the gaps in the riders’ standings even tighter, so we have to keep working and keep faith in what everyone at Aprilia and the team is doing.”
The reigning world champion is also looking forward to riding the Aprilia RS-GP at Phillip Island for the first time.
“It will be my first time on the RS-GP at a circuit as special as Phillip Island. I’m confident that my team and I will do an excellent job and give this circuit the send-off it deserves.”

Bezzecchi Looks to Continue Winning Form
Marco Bezzecchi heads to Phillip Island full of confidence after claiming his fifth Grand Prix victory of the 2026 season in Indonesia.
Although the Italian crashed during the Sprint Race at Mandalika, he bounced back with an outstanding performance in Sunday’s race to stand on the top step of the podium. Now, Bezzecchi is hoping to carry that momentum into Australia.
“I’m really happy to be heading to Phillip Island. It’s a shame this will be our last time there, but I’m delighted to be back on the bike. I can’t wait, especially after the fantastic Sunday we had in Indonesia. As always, we’ll be working hard as a team to be competitive and have fun out there.”

Phillip Island Set for Farewell
Located in the state of Victoria, the 4.45 km Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is widely regarded as one of MotoGP’s most spectacular tracks. Built along dramatic coastal cliffs and surrounded by scenic countryside, the circuit features five right-hand corners and seven left-hand corners, creating one of the fastest and most flowing layouts on the calendar.
This year’s Australian Grand Prix is expected to be the final MotoGP event held at Phillip Island before the championship moves to Adelaide in 2027, making the weekend an emotional farewell to one of the sport’s most beloved venues.

Aprilia Aims to Keep Momentum Alive
With Martín leading the championship and Bezzecchi coming off a race victory, Aprilia Racing arrives in Australia with confidence and momentum.
As the title fight intensifies, both riders will be aiming for another strong weekend to strengthen Aprilia’s position in the championship before the season heads into its decisive final rounds.
