Cardo Systems, a global leader in wireless communication systems for powersports, has officially announced Mesh Boost, a major software update that significantly enhances its Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC) technology.
The update increases the maximum group size to 31 riders and passengers, while introducing two new features; Public Mesh and Remote Grouping, to make group rides easier and more connected than ever.
The free software update is available over the air through the Cardo Connect App for all second-generation PACKTALK devices, including the PACKTALK PRO, PACKTALK EDGE, and PACKTALK NEO.
Larger Mesh Groups for Bigger Rides
One of the biggest improvements introduced by Mesh Boost is the ability to connect up to 31 riders and passengers within a single Dynamic Mesh Communication group. This more than doubles the previous group capacity, making it the largest mesh communication network currently available for motorcycle riders.
The expanded capability is designed for larger riding clubs, organised tours, and group adventures where seamless communication is essential. Even riders using previous-generation PACKTALK devices can still join Mesh Boost-enabled groups, although the latest features will only be available on second-generation compatible devices.
New Public Mesh Makes Joining Groups Easier
Mesh Boost also introduces Public Mesh, a feature that allows riders to communicate with nearby DMC users without the need for manual pairing beforehand.
By simply selecting the Public Mesh option within the Cardo Connect App, riders can automatically connect with other compatible users who are within communication range. This makes spontaneous group rides much easier, especially during motorcycle events or weekend rides where participants may not know each other beforehand.
Remote Grouping Simplifies Ride Preparation
Another major addition is Remote Grouping, which removes the need for riders to gather together before setting up their communication network.
Using the Cardo Connect App, one rider can create a group and share an invitation link with the rest of the participants before the ride begins. Once everyone comes within range, their devices automatically connect to the Dynamic Mesh network without requiring manual pairing.
This feature is especially useful for riding groups that begin their journey from different locations before meeting along the route.
Built on Cardo’s Proven Dynamic Mesh Communication
Cardo’s proprietary Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC) technology has long been recognised as one of the most advanced motorcycle communication systems available.
Unlike traditional Bluetooth intercoms, DMC creates a self-healing and self-adjusting mesh network that automatically reconnects riders whenever someone leaves or rejoins the group. The system maintains crystal-clear, full-duplex communication while extending overall range through relay-based connections between riders.
The result is a more stable communication experience without the hassle of repeatedly pairing devices during a ride.
Cardo Prioritised Reliability Over Speed
According to Cardo, the company deliberately delayed the release of Mesh Boost to ensure every new capability met its strict reliability standards.
“We know many riders have been waiting for this update, and we appreciate their patience,” the company said, explaining that extensive testing was carried out before bringing the software to market.
Dan Emodi, Chief Marketing Officer at Cardo Systems, said the company’s focus remained on delivering dependable communication rather than rushing unfinished features.
“Mesh Boost has always been about making group communication simpler and more capable. While this journey took longer than we originally planned, we made a conscious decision not to compromise on reliability. With larger group capacity, spontaneous Public Mesh, and easier setup through remote pairing, Mesh Boost strengthens our leadership in mesh technology and builds on a decade of innovation since launching the first motorcycle mesh communicator in 2015.”
Free Update Available Through the Cardo Connect App
The Mesh Boost software update is available free of charge via the Cardo Connect App for eligible second-generation PACKTALK devices.
Alongside the new communication features, Cardo has also refreshed the app with an improved user interface to make navigation and feature management easier for riders.
Some Features Still Coming Later
Cardo noted that the current Mesh Boost release does not yet support Harley-Davidson communication units or Schuberth SC-EDGE devices. Compatibility for those products is expected to arrive during the fourth quarter of this year.
Meanwhile, previously announced features such as Private Chat+ and Cellular Intercom remain under development and will be introduced in a future software update. To install Mesh Boost, users must ensure their Cardo device is synced with the latest version of the Cardo Connect App.
Strengthening Cardo’s Leadership in Motorcycle Communication
With support for up to 31 riders, easier group setup through Remote Grouping, and spontaneous connections via Public Mesh, Mesh Boost represents one of Cardo’s most significant software upgrades to date.
The update further strengthens the company’s position in motorcycle communication technology by making large group rides simpler, more reliable, and more convenient for riders around the world.
