Gracshaw Launches Limited-Edition Mobile Suit Gundam Helmets in Malaysia

The collection features the RX-78-2 Gundam, MS-06F Zaku II and Char’s MS-06S Zaku II, with prices starting at RM498.

Malaysian motorcycle helmet brand Gracshaw has officially launched its Gracshaw x Mobile Suit Gundam limited-edition collection, bringing three iconic Mobile Suits from the original 1979 television series to the road.

Priced at RM498 each, the collection is based on Gracshaw’s Glaive dual-visor open-face helmet and features three designs: the RX-78-2 Gundam, MS-06F Zaku II and MS-06S Char’s Zaku II.

The limited-edition production runs are also different for each model, with 1,500 units allocated to the RX-78-2 Gundam, 1,000 units for Char’s Zaku II and 500 units for the MS-06F Zaku II.

First broadcast in Japan in 1979, Mobile Suit Gundam was created and directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino, with mechanical designs by Kunio Okawara. The original series became known for combining giant-robot action with political conflict, moral complexity and human consequences, while its Gundam and Zaku designs went on to become some of the franchise’s most recognisable machines.

For Gracshaw, the collaboration focuses on translating those iconic designs into helmets that can be used on the road rather than simply displayed as collectibles.

Based on the Gracshaw Glaive

The collection uses the Glaive open-face helmet, chosen for its clean shell design and dual-visor configuration. Gracshaw says the shell allows the colours, markings and mechanical details of each Mobile Suit to remain clearly visible.

The helmets also come with a Gundam-edition rear ducktail fitted as standard. Unlike standard Glaive models, where the rear ducktail is available separately as an add-on kit, the limited-edition versions include the component as part of the complete design.

The ducktail extends the helmet’s silhouette while also carrying the collaboration’s official licensing details. It was created exclusively for the Gracshaw x Mobile Suit Gundam collection and is not available for separate purchase.

“We wanted riders and collectors to see the Glaive at its full potential. With the rear ducktail fitted as standard, the shell and ducktail work as one continuous form,” said Chiong Sai Weng, Senior Business Development Manager of Gracshaw.

Three Iconic Mobile Suits

The three designs represent some of the most recognisable machines from the original Gundam series.

The RX-78-2 Gundam represents the Earth Federation Forces, while the green MS-06F Zaku II reflects the mass-produced Mobile Suit used by the Principality of Zeon.

Completing the collection is the MS-06S Zaku II, the customised commander-type machine associated with Char Aznable, also known as the Red Comet.

Gracshaw has also paid particular attention to the colour treatment of Char’s Zaku II. Instead of using a conventional bright red, the helmet takes its colour reference from the corresponding Bandai figure, incorporating the pink and deeper maroon tones associated with Char’s customised machine.

“Mobile Suit Gundam fans do not see these elements as decoration. Every colour, marking and mechanical detail carries meaning,” Chiong said.

Numbered Collector Packaging

Each helmet comes with a matching numbered limited-edition card, allowing owners to identify its position within the production run.

The collection also includes a helmet dust bag, brand card, stickers and user manual, with each model presented in edition-specific packaging. All three versions are SIRIM-certified and are available in sizes S, M, L, XL and 2XL.

The Gracshaw x Mobile Suit Gundam limited-edition helmets are available exclusively through Gracshaw Authorised Dealers in Malaysia, from 7 September 2026, while stocks last.
