Ducati has officially unveiled the Desmo 450 EDS, marking the Italian manufacturer’s entry into the enduro segment with its first-ever purpose-built enduro motorcycle.
The new model follows the debut of the Desmo 450 MX motocross machine in late 2025 and is built upon the same platform, albeit with several modifications aimed at tackling longer off-road adventures and enduro riding conditions.

Built for the Trails
Visually, the Desmo 450 EDS retains much of the aggressive styling seen on the Desmo 450 MX. The motorcycle features slim bodywork, a high-mounted front fender and bold race-inspired graphics, while an LED headlight gives it a distinctive Ducati appearance inspired by the brand’s larger adventure and street models.
An LCD instrument panel comes as standard, providing riders with essential riding information during off-road excursions.

Familiar Engine, New Enduro Character
Power comes from a redesigned 449.6cc single-cylinder engine developed to deliver stronger low-end and mid-range torque while offering smoother power delivery for technical off-road terrain. While Ducati has yet to officially reveal performance figures, the Desmo 450 EDS is expected to produce outputs similar to the Desmo 450 MX, which delivers 62.6 hp and 52.5 Nm of torque.
The engine is paired to a six-speed gearbox and utilises DID O-ring chain drive system, similar to the specification used by Ducati’s factory MXGP race machines.

Lightweight Chassis and Premium Suspension
The Desmo 450 EDS features a revised aluminium frame specifically engineered for enduro use. Ducati claims the chassis weighs just 9 kg and consists of only 11 individual components, helping reduce overall weight while maintaining rigidity.
Suspension duties are handled by fully adjustable Showa components at both ends. Up front sits a 49 mm upside-down fork offering 310 mm of travel, while the rear receives a fully adjustable monoshock with 301 mm of travel. Braking performance comes with Brembo hardware, featuring a 260 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc.
The motorcycle rides on a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel wrapped in Metzeler Six Days Extreme tyres, and Takasago Excel aluminium rims with Alpina spokes, a setup designed to handle a wide variety of off-road conditions.

Advanced Electronics Package
As expected from Ducati, the Desmo 450 EDS is equipped with a comprehensive suite of rider aids. Standard equipment includes four engine maps, Ducati Traction Control with four levels of intervention, two riding modes and full LED lighting.
Riders opting for Ducati’s additional electronics package will gain access to Launch Control and Engine Brake Control, both configurable via the Ducati X-Link smartphone application.
The motorcycle also features built-in Wi-Fi connectivity and smartphone integration, allowing riders to customize settings and monitor performance data through the Ducati ecosystem.

European Launch Underway
The Desmo 450 EDS has already begun arriving at selected European dealerships, with the United Kingdom among the first markets to receive the new model.
While Ducati has not yet confirmed availability in Asian markets, industry observers believe there is a strong possibility of future expansion given the recent launch of the Desmo 450 MX in India.
With the launch of the Desmo 450 EDS, Ducati has taken another significant step beyond its traditional road-going and racing motorcycles, signalling its ambitions to become a serious player in the global off-road market.
