Metzeler officially introduces its new range of supersport tyres, the SPORTEC 01 and SPORTEC 01 RS, developed to cater to two different riding styles. One for sporty everyday road use, and the other for extreme performance on the racetrack.
Both models share the same DNA, yet offer different characters to meet the increasingly diverse needs of modern motorcyclists. The launch also marks the continuation of Metzeler’s expertise in the world of Road Racing, including the brand’s involvement in prestigious races such as the Isle of Man TT.
Two Different Approaches, One Metzeler Supersport DNA
The new SPORTEC range was developed with a clear philosophy, offering choices based on different riding style.
The SPORTEC 01 was designed for riders who want a versatile sporty tire for the road. It offers high dry performance, stable wet performance, easy and intuitive handling in a variety of road conditions.
Meanwhile, the SPORTEC 01 RS was developed for experienced riders who want maximum performance. This tire focuses more on dry grip, steering precision and race-like character, including the ability to be used on the track without sacrificing road usability.

Different Rider Targets and Uses
The SPORTEC 01 targets everyday riders who love sporty motorcycles such as naked, supersport and sport crossovers, who want a balance between performance, safety and comfort when riding on winding roads or for daily use.
Meanwhile, the SPORTEC 01 RS is more suitable for owners of high-performance motorcycles such as supersport, and high-powered nakeds, who not only ride on the road, but also actively participate in track day sessions.
DYNATREAD™ Technology: Adaptive to Riding Style
Both tires are equipped with exclusive DYNATREAD technology, an adaptive tire tread pattern system that can adapt to pressure, load and riding style.
During braking, acceleration or aggressive riding, the tread pattern of the tire dynamically changes to increase the contact patch with the road. This provides better grip, high stability and more consistent control, while maintaining water drainage capabilities in wet conditions.

Tire Patterns: Versatility vs. Extreme Performance
The SPORTEC 01 features a tread design optimized for water drainage, stability and confidence in a variety of weather conditions. It is also designed for rapid warm-up and progressive grip as lean angles increase.
In contrast, the SPORTEC 01 RS uses a more compact, almost “slick” design, with a higher rubber ratio to maximize the tire’s contact area on dry surfaces, resembling the performance of a real racing tire.
Compounds and Structures Based on Racing Technology
The SPORTEC 01 uses a high silica-based bi-compound structure designed for a balance between durability, grip and stability in a wide range of temperatures.
While the SPORTEC 01 RS uses a more aggressive compound with a silica blend in the center and a carbon black compound based on Road Racing experience, including the Isle of Man TT, to provide maximum grip when taking fast corners.
Structurally, the SPORTEC 01 is designed for everyday stability and comfort, while the SPORTEC 01 RS is optimized for steering precision, high-speed stability and extreme control.

Metzeler Road Racing Heritage
Metzeler has a long history in the world of Road Racing, including participation in high-profile races such as the Isle of Man TT, North West 200, Ulster Grand Prix and Macau GP.
This extreme racing experience formed the basis for the development of their tire technology, and is now applied directly in the SPORTEC 01 and SPORTEC 01 RS to enhance road and track performance.
The New Era of SPORTEC™
With the launch of the SPORTEC 01 and SPORTEC 01 RS, Metzeler once again strengthens its position in the supersport tire segment by offering two different approaches, one for comfort and flexibility, and the other for maximum performance at the racing level.
Both share a common goal: to provide the modern motorcyclist with a more confident, more precise and more enjoyable riding experience.
