The Ducati Lenovo Team has completed its final pre-season test at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand, ahead of the 2025 MotoGP season opener on February 28 – March 2.
Over two intense days, the team fine-tuned technical setups and made key decisions for the upcoming campaign, with Marc Márquez setting the fastest lap and Francesco Bagnaia securing P5 in the combined standings.
Márquez continued his strong form from Day 1, further improving his lap time to an impressive 1:28.855 after completing 36 laps on the final day. Meanwhile, Bagnaia overcame early technical issues to clock a best lap of 1:29.378 across 42 laps, demonstrating solid pace and consistency.

Márquez and Bagnaia Optimistic for Season Opener
Reflecting on the test, Márquez expressed confidence in his setup, stating: “The most important thing was completing our extensive testing program. I feel comfortable on the bike, and we worked hard to achieve a well-balanced setup. We still have minor things to refine, but overall, I’m happy and excited for the first race. My long-run simulation showed we are competitive, even in the extreme afternoon heat.”
Bagnaia echoed the positive sentiment, saying: “After a challenging start, we made great progress and confirmed our technical choices. My time attack wasn’t perfect, but my race pace with used tyres was strong, which is what matters most. The team has done an incredible job, and we’re ready for the season.”
Ducati Corse Technical Director Highlights Smart Approach
Ducati Corse Technical Director Davide Barana praised the team’s performance and strategic approach, stating: “We are pleased with both the time attack results and race simulations from Sepang and Buriram. With an already competitive base, we opted for a cautious yet effective strategy. Our riders provided excellent feedback, helping us finalize setups for the first race while identifying areas for future upgrades.”
With the final pre-season test concluded the Ducati Lenovo Team now sets its sights on the season opener at the Thai GP, where Márquez and Bagnaia will be looking to make an immediate impact.
