Hakim Danish has turned his full attention to the Australian Grand Prix (GP) this weekend with the mission of returning to collect important points in the 2026 Moto3 World Championship.
The AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSi rider arrived at Phillip Island Circuit with high spirit after a tough race at the Indonesian GP. A grid penalty forced him to start from the back of the grid, but he still showed resilience before finishing in 14th place after an incident late in the race.
Phillip Island Presents Its Own Challenge
The Phillip Island race is expected to present a different challenge for Hakim Danish. The iconic Australian circuit is known for its high-speed corners, fast surfaces and unpredictable weather conditions due to its location near the sea.
In addition, this year’s Australian GP also has sentimental value as Phillip Island is scheduled to host the race for the last time before the race moves to Adelaide starting the 2027 season.
To ensure thorough preparation, Hakim uses every opportunity to study the characteristics of the circuit and conduct physical and mental preparations before heading down to the free practice session.

Hakim Danish Wants to Rise After Indonesian GP
Although the results in Mandalika were not in his favour, the 19-year-old rider sees the race in Australia as the best opportunity to improve his performance and build momentum ahead of his home race at the Malaysian GP at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC), which takes place from October 30 to November 1.
Hakim also admitted that Phillip Island was a circuit he had never raced at, but he was excited to face the challenge.
“My preparations for the Australian GP are going well, and I’m really excited to race at Phillip Island as it is a new circuit for me.
I’m also looking forward to riding there because, from what I’ve seen, the circuit looks really interesting. I can’t wait for the first practice session on Friday.
In preparation for the race at Phillip Island, I’ve been training in Malaysia and reviewing the mistakes I made in the previous two races.
I’m working to improve the areas where I’ve identified weaknesses, and I want to give my best performance this weekend before returning home for my home race at the Malaysian GP.
My injuries from the previous crash are also gradually healing. Although I still feel some pain, it won’t stop me from fighting on and giving my very best.”
Collaboration with Zulfahmi Khairuddin
Ahead of the race in Australia, Hakim also spent time with team manager, Zulfahmi Khairuddin, to review footage of previous races to identify aspects that needed improvement.
According to Zulfahmi, Phillip Island requires a different approach compared to other circuits due to wind, speed and unpredictable weather factors.
“Ahead of this week’s Australian GP, I’ve had several discussions with Hakim Danish about the Phillip Island circuit. It is quite different from other circuits, particularly in terms of its layout and its location close to the sea.
The circuit features high-speed sections and can be quite windy. The weather is also often unpredictable, especially towards the end of October.
Last week, I also spent a considerable amount of time with Hakim Danish reviewing race footage and planning what he needs to do during Friday’s practice sessions.
I hope the work we put in last week will bring positive improvements for Hakim Danish. We want to see him perform strongly at Phillip Island.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to accompany Hakim Danish this week. I hope he can get through the race weekend smoothly, without any setbacks or penalties, while prioritising his safety on track and ensuring he is fully prepared for next week’s Malaysian GP.”

Focus On Collecting Points Before the Malaysian GP
With just a few rounds left in the 2026 season, every point counts for Hakim Danish. A positive result at Phillip Island will not only boost his championship position, but also give him extra confidence ahead of his home race in Sepang next week.
All attention is now focused on the action in Australia, with the hope that Hakim Danish can put on a more consistent performance and once again bring home valuable points for the AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSi team.
