Following a lengthy absence since the last FIM JuniorGP championship race in Catalunya on May 19th, the competition is back for the fourth round at the renowned Autódromo Internacional de Algarve in Portugal, commonly known as Portimão.

Local racers Hakim Danish, 16, and Danial Syahmi, 22, both aspire to achieve their first podium finish in the JuniorGP category. They have prepared well ahead of the intense fourth round in Portimão, which will feature two races in the JuniorGP category.

Meanwhile, the SIC team leader, Zulfahmi Khairuddin, expressed his eagerness to see both junior riders reach the podium and his confidence that the upcoming races would bring something meaningful to the team.

Let’s hear what the riders and their leader have to say ahead of the fourth-round races of the JuniorGP.

#57 Danial Syahmi, Junior Talent Team

“In the fourth round of this round in Portimão, I have two races. My preparations are better than before, I’ve been training in Tarragona, Spain. I think I’m better physically than before.

In this race at Portimão, I dream of getting my first podium in the JuniorGP. My goal is to keep fighting in the front group and give great competition in the front group. I hope all Malaysians wish me success here.”

#13 Hakim Danish, SIC Racing – MSI

“My preparations for this weekend are all done in Malaysia. Where I do motorcycle training, gym, and running. I’m ready for this fourth round at Portimão.

My hope is to compete in the front group and try to get my first podium. I need to keep my focus, and I’ll do my very best. I hope everyone will be my support this week.”

Zulfahmi Khairuddin, the head coach of SIC Racing – MSI

“This week is the fourth round of the JuniorGP. Honestly, we’re still chasing our first podium with Hakim Danish and Danial Syahmi.

Hakim Danish is in a competitive position, always fighting in the front group in the last three rounds, but for Danial Syahmi, we need to improve his speed so that he sits in the front group.

I admit, in the circuit of Barcelona, there’s a shortage of speed if we see from a rough eye on Danish’s bike. But I believe, after we’ve done a team analysis, Hakim Danish’s bike is just like the other KTM bikes.

Only Hakim Danish’s exit corner needs to be better so he can carry speed on the straight better. For Danial Syahmi, I will try to help and encourage Danial to be more competitive from the first day of this practice session at Portimão.

Overall, I am confident in the potential of Hakim Danish and Danial Syahmi, and I hope we can finish the race this week in a better position than before.”

The Malaysian time race schedule is shown above. The live broadcast will be available only on Race Day (Sunday), and you can watch it live on FIM JuniorGP’s YouTube and Facebook pages.
