The Modenas Z15GT has secured its first-ever victory in the Sprinta Pro-Am Cup at Round 7 of the Malaysian Cub Prix Championship 2026, held at the Sepang International Circuit South Track. The milestone was achieved by Raynorton Motorsport rider Md Firdaus Mohd Hamdan, who was officially classified as the winner following two riders have their wins revoked.
Starting seventh on the grid, Firdaus delivered a strong performance aboard his race-prepared Z15GT to secure the motorcycle’s maiden victory in the category. He finished P3 ahead of both Voge rider Md Haziq Rosmaza and Md Harith Rosmaza whose P4 and P5, while two competitors, Fazli Sham and Muhaimin Roslan missed out on the podium due to a violation of the criteria.
The victory came just eight days after Firdaus secured the Z15GT’s first Pro-Am Cup podium at LYL International Karting Circuit on 10 October. On that occasion, he fought his way from 16th on the starting grid to finish second.
At Sepang, Firdaus and Raynorton Motorsport went one step further, turning their first podium into the motorcycle’s first victory in the category.
“The first podium at LYL was already a special moment for us. To follow it up with a win at Sepang is something I couldn’t have imagined. This victory belongs to everyone in the team who has worked so hard to get us here,” said Firdaus.

Three Modenas Z15GT Bikes Finish in the Top Eight
The Sepang round also delivered encouraging results for other Z15GT competitors. Fellow Raynorton Motorsport rider Md Amirul Affiq Ahmad Solikhin finished fifth, while Md Afiq Hamdan, another Z15GT competitor, secured eighth place.
The results placed three Z15GT motorcycles among the top eight officially classified finishers in the PETRONAS Sprinta Pro-Am Cup, highlighting the model’s growing competitiveness in the national championship.
For Raynorton Motorsport, the back-to-back podium and victory represent a significant achievement for an independent Malaysian racing team competing against established machinery.
“We’ve put a lot of work into this bike throughout the season. Getting our first podium was a big moment, but winning just eight days later makes it even more meaningful. I’m proud of Firdaus and everyone in the team. This is a team victory,” said Syafie, Team Principal of Raynorton Motorsport.

Modenas Continues Supporting Local Racing Talent
The result marks another milestone in Modenas’ return to the Malaysian Cub Prix Championship, where the manufacturer supports four independent racing teams competing with the Z15GT.
The initiative reflects the company’s efforts to support grassroots motorsports, create opportunities for local racing talent and strengthen the presence of Malaysian-developed motorcycles in competitive racing.
Modenas Chief Executive Officer Roslan Roskan said the achievement was an encouraging development for the motorcycle and its supported racing teams.
Roslan said, “From our first podium to our first victory in just eight days, this is an encouraging milestone for the Z15GT. Full credit goes to Firdaus and Raynorton Motorsport. Their achievement demonstrates the determination and capabilities of our local racing community, and we are proud to support their journey.”
With the 2026 Malaysian Cub Prix Championship approaching its season finale, the Sepang result gives Raynorton Motorsport and the other Z15GT-supported teams fresh momentum for the remaining races.
The victory also highlights the progress of Modenas’ racing programme, with independent Malaysian teams demonstrating what can be achieved through teamwork, preparation and continued commitment to the sport.
