Ipone, the globally recognised high-performance lubricant brand, kicked off the 2026 MAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship in impressive fashion, celebrating a podium finish alongside the AHM Ipone Racing Team at Round 1 held at Litar Lumba Tangkak, Johor on the 25th and 26th of April 2026.

Leading the charge was Arash Tsunami Kamarudin, who delivered a composed and competitive ride in the CP125 category, finishing third and securing a valuable early result for the team. The podium finish marks a strong start to the new season and highlights the growing strength of the Ipone-backed outfit.

Strong start signals serious championship intent

Entering the 2026 campaign with clear ambitions, the AHM Ipone Racing Team is aiming to compete consistently at the front and challenge for top honours. Arash’s P3 finish in the opening round provides an early indication of the team’s potential and sets a confident tone for the races ahead.

Ravi Shankar, Country General Manager of Specialty Lubricants Trading (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, praised the team’s performance:

“Congratulations to Arash and the AHM Ipone Racing Team on a well-deserved podium. A P3 finish in the opening round reflects the fighting spirit we believe in at Ipone. We look forward to seeing this momentum continue throughout the season.”

Kenny Chua, Founder of AHM Motor Sports, also highlighted the importance of the partnership:

“We are proud to have Ipone supporting us for the 2026 season. Their focus on performance and innovation aligns perfectly with our goals on track. With this backing, we are confident in developing our riders and pushing for top results.”

Competitive performance backed by advanced technology

Arash completed the 12-lap CP125 race with a total time of 10:03.805, finishing just 0.960 seconds behind the race winner. The result earned him 16 championship points, placing him third in the early standings.

Powering the team’s performance is Ipone’s Shogun range of 4-stroke engine oils, formulated with 100% PAO and Ester technology. Designed for extreme racing conditions, the oil delivers outstanding thermal stability and consistent protection from cold starts to high-rev operation. The podium finish serves as an early testament to the product’s performance under competitive race conditions.

Momentum builds ahead of Round 2

With a strong result secured at the season opener, the AHM Ipone Racing Team now shifts its focus to maintaining momentum across the remaining rounds of the championship.

The next challenge awaits at Round 2 of the 2026 Malaysian Cub Prix Championship, scheduled for 23–24 May 2026 at Litar Antarabangsa PETRONAS Sepang (North Circuit).

As the season unfolds, all eyes will be on whether the team can build on this promising start and emerge as a consistent contender in the CP125 category.
