Ola Electric unveils game changing S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters

India’s Ola Electric has tackled the motorcycle market with its affordable high-tech S1 scooter. Ola Electric is building the world’s biggest motorcycle “Futurefactory” which is capable of producing 10 million motorcycles a year. That is a bike every two seconds.

The factory is said to come with 500-acres, carbon-negative, 10 production line, and 3,000-plus robots, putting the Futurefactory in its highest capacity. According to New Atlas, once it starts manufacturing at full capacity, it will be producing more than one-seventh as many motorcycles as the entire global industry does today.

There is no doubt that India is a major player in the motorcycle industry and holds a huge stake in the world market. Ola Electric is taking things up a notch and amplifying India’s stance with offers buyers cannot refuse. Ola is launching one scooter in two models, namely the S1 and the S1 Pro.

Just like its name, the S1 Pro is the upgraded version of the S1. It comes with full features and is better in terms of performance and range.

The scooters are your basic simple-looking scooters with 36 liters of storage under the seat. It comes with a single-sided suspension at the front and rear along with the disc brakes. The idea here is that Ola intends to protect the key moving parts from the dust and grime from the road. The scooters feature plastic covers over the drive system and front suspension and the rear suspension is well-protect itself as it sits on top of the drive unit.

The S1 Pro is just like a 135cc 4-stroke. It is capable of producing 8.5 kW horsepower and 58 Nm torque with its electric motor. It can get you to 40 km/h in 3 seconds, 60 km/h in 5 seconds, and an overall shorter time to reach its top speed of 115km/h (71mph). For a small scooter, this is a great deal for the users. In terms of range, it maxes out at 181 km. Financial Express reports state that the S1 Pro gets there with a 3.97 kWh battery.

It charges overnight in six and a half hours on a wall plug or fills half its battery in 18 minutes at a fast charge facility.

The S1 has a 1.8 GHz octacore processor with 3 GB of RAM, Bluetooth Low-Energy, WiFi and LTE connectivity, GPS, and a 7-inch touch screen. It also has keyless ignition and locking. It will greet you with a “hi (your name)/bye (your name)” audio message which is impressive. Adding on to its list of amazing features is that it can even sense your presence when your smartphone’s within a few feet, or can be unlocked through the screen. There is also voice control through a “Hey Ola” assistant using AI speech recognition and a multi-mic noise-canceling array. Which means the bike will talk back to you. At this point, we seem pretty convinced with Ola’s creation.
