Boon Siew Honda unveils the 2021 Honda CB500X in Malaysia. Gets three new colour options for 2021.

Boon Siew Honda (BSH) launches the updated 2021 Honda CB500X adventure tourer in Malaysia. Back in 2019, the Honda CB500X was reborn with a much agressive adventure styling with improved aerodynamics, better rider ergonomics as well as improved suspension and braking components.

In 2019 the model received an agressive fairing and windhseild design which improved the overall aerodynamic performance of the bike. On the creature comfort side, Honda slimmed the seat profile and increased the steering angle to 38° in order to further enhance ergonomics and manoeuvrability.

In the case of  wheels and suspension, the model received a 19 inch front wheel with pre-load adjustable telescopic front fork and prolink monoshock with a 5 stage preload adjuster at the rear. ABS was fitted as standard and the CB500X received a 310mm disc with two position calliper up front and a 240mm disc with single piston calliper at the rear.

Aside from this, the CB500X also received a few powertrain upgrades back in 2019. Honda upgraded the intake, exhaust and valve timing on the 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. Mated to a 6 speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch, the post-2019 CB500X models push 49.7 hp @ 8,500 rpm and a peak 44.7 Nm of peak torque @ 7,000 rpm.

Other notable features include:

  • Emergency Stop Signal.
  • Sportier sound from the dual-exit muffler.
  • Lighter kerb weight.
  • LCD instrument display with Gear Position and Shift up Indicators.
  • Full LED lighting.

For 2021, the mechanical components on the Honda CB500X remain unchanged in Malaysia. However, the 2021 model gets three new colour options: Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic, Grand Prix Red & Pearl Metalloid White. To match the colour scheme, the new 2021 CB500X also gets a striking red rear sub frame in tribute to the Africa Twin model.

2021 Honda CB500X Price in Malaysia

The 2021 Honda CB500X is priced at RM 36,099 (excluding insurance, road tax and registration fee) in Malaysia. Boon Siew Honda offers two years or 20,000km manufacturing warranty with this model.
