The MotoGP Malaysian Grand Prix 2026 is set to return to the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from 30 October to 1 November, with Malaysian fans preparing to welcome homegrown talent Hakim Danish for his first home Grand Prix as a Moto3 World Championship rider.
This year’s race marks 35 years of Malaysia’s involvement in the MotoGP World Championship since 1991, with Sepang serving as the country’s home venue since 1999. As Malaysia’s longest-running international sporting event, MotoGP Malaysia continues to play a role in promoting motorsports, supporting sports tourism and creating economic opportunities while inspiring the next generation of Malaysian racers.
According to SIC Chief Executive Officer Azhan Shafriman Hanif, the 2025 edition attracted 190,977 spectators, reflecting strong interest from local and international fans.
For 2026, approximately 80% of tickets have already been sold, while the Premier Seat and Hakim Danish Tribune categories are fully booked. The MotoGP event is set to draw 200,000 fans, and Sepang International Circuit is offering free entry to the grounds on October 30 to encourage early arrivals.
“Hakim Danish’s historic Moto3 victory and maiden World Championship podium have added another exciting dimension to this year’s race, giving Malaysian fans even more reason to come to Sepang and cheer for one of their own,” Azhan said during the Malaysian GP press conference held at Kuala Lumpur.
Fan Activities Beyond the Track
MotoGP Malaysia 2026 will feature a range of activities designed to bring spectators closer to the riders and racing action throughout the three-day weekend.
Fans can look forward to the Public Pit Lane Walk and Autograph Session, Night Track Tour, Moto2 and Moto3 Hero Walk, MotoGP Hero Walk and Grid Walk. The MotoGP Fan Zone will also host performances by school and university students, alongside music, entertainment and interactive experiences.
Selected ticket categories will offer spectators the chance to win motorcycles from Aprilia, and Lambretta. These activities will complement the on-track action, providing additional experiences for fans attending the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Tiket Rahmah Keeps Entry Affordable
The government is also continuing its efforts to make motorsports more accessible through the Tiket Rahmah initiative. Tickets for the K2 Hillstand remain available at RM49.90, offering a more affordable option for families, young people and motorcycle racing enthusiasts who want to experience MotoGP at Sepang.
Youth and Sports Minister YB Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari said, “MotoGP Malaysia is a source of national pride that drives tourism, creates economic opportunities and inspires young Malaysians.”
“Through initiatives such as Tiket Rahmah and the Malaysian Motorsport Development Ecosystem (MDEV), the Government remains committed to making motorsports more accessible and nurturing the next generation of Malaysian Champions,” he added.
Sepang Strengthens Sustainability Efforts
Beyond racing and entertainment, SIC is also expanding its sustainability initiatives for the 2026 event. The circuit has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Corporation (SWCorp) to promote more systematic waste management and responsible practices among spectators and event stakeholders.
Planned initiatives include waste separation at source, Trash to Gift, upcycled tyre art, Composting on Wheels and the Hero Kebersihan volunteer programme, supported by the Respect Our Track campaign.
The collaboration will also support the collection of environmental, social and governance (ESG) data to measure the impact of these initiatives and guide future improvements.
