Honda has officially confirmed the key teams and rider line-ups that will represent the brand in the 2026 Suzuka 8 Hours, set to take place at Suzuka Circuit on July 5.
Leading the charge once again is Honda HRC, which will aim for a fifth consecutive victory in one of the world’s most prestigious endurance motorcycle races.
Honda HRC will field a star-studded three-rider lineup consisting of Takumi Takahashi, Johann Zarco and Jonathan Rea.
Takahashi enters this year’s event as the most successful rider in Suzuka 8 Hours history, having secured seven victories overall, including four consecutive wins in recent seasons. Meanwhile, Zarco returns after helping Honda secure victory last year and will now chase a third consecutive Suzuka triumph.
Adding even more strength to the squad is six-time World Superbike champion Jonathan Rea, who returns to the Suzuka 8 Hours for the first time since 2022 and will be targeting his third overall victory in the event.
“I will do my best to achieve a fifth consecutive victory, and I hope everyone will continue to give Honda HRC their passionate support,” said Takahashi.
Zarco also expressed excitement about returning to the iconic endurance race: “Winning last year’s eight-hour race was a special honor for me, and I will give everything I have again this year to aim for the top step of the podium,” he said.
Rea meanwhile described his return as a proud moment: “I am sincerely happy to return once again to this historic eight-hour endurance race as a Honda HRC rider,” said the Northern Irishman.

Alongside Honda HRC, several other Honda-backed teams will also compete in the event. SDG Team HARC-PRO Honda will enter with a lineup featuring Yuki Kunii, Teppei Nagoe and Keito Abe.
Meanwhile, endurance racing powerhouse F.C.C. TSR Honda France returns with its regular EWC lineup of Alan Techer, Corentin Perolari and John McPhee as the team aims to improve its current championship standing.

Honda will also field a strong Asian presence through Honda Asia-Dream Racing with Astemo, featuring riders Nakarin Atiratphuvapat, Md. Adenanta Putra and Malaysian rider Khairul Idham Pawi.
With multiple world-class riders and experienced endurance teams in its lineup, Honda will once again head into the Suzuka 8 Hours as one of the favourites for overall victory.
