Ducati has just unveiled its latest marvels, the all-new 2025 Panigale V4 and V4S, and they’re already causing a stir in the motorcycle world.
It is as expected, with a hefty 216 horsepower and 91 lb-ft of torque from its 1103cc V4 engine, these new models come with a host of changes, including a fresh front-end design and a major shift in swingarm technology.
MotoGP-derived technologies designed to let every enthusiast experience the thrill of professional riding.
The biggest buzz surrounds the new double-sided shell-cast aluminium swingarm, which replaces the Panigale’s traditional single-sided unit. Ducati claims this update reduces lateral stiffness by a substantial 37%, promising better rider feedback during cornering. Could this signal the end for fans of the single-sided swingarm?
Engineered to Impress
The new V4, paired with the updated swingarm, now sports a rear suspension design inspired by MotoGP. This setup includes a lighter, shorter shock that retains the same progressive ratio as its predecessor.
The core of the Panigale remains the same as the 2018 model’s Front Frame chassis. The V4S model boasts upgraded electronic Öhlins NPX-30 forks, a TTX 36 shock, and a steering damper, while the base model continues with adjustable 43 mm Showa Big Piston Forks and Sachs shock, along with a Sachs steering damper. Both versions roll on forged aluminium wheels fitted with Pirelli Supercorsa V4 SP tyres.
Ducati created both single-sided and double-sided swingarm designs and consulted test riders. The double-sided Ducati Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm was chosen for its 37% reduction in lateral stiffness and lighter weight.
Besides that, this new Panigale V4 models debut a unique braking system, featuring Brembo’s Hypure front brake callipers, which are 10% lighter and offer improved heat dispersion. Matter of fact, this new V4 is the only motorcycle in the world to ever use it.
Styling-wise, the Panigale V4 takes inspiration from Ducati’s past, with headlights reminiscent of the Desmosedici D16RR and a front end elevated by 25 mm. The mirrors are integrated into the top fairing, and the bike features winglets similar to those on Ducati’s 2016 MotoGP bikes.
High-Tech Features
On this new Ducati model, the superbike also features a new electronics suite known as the Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO). Developed by their MotoGP team, DVO uses data from the IMU inertial platform to gauge ground forces and determine the bike’s maximum load under various conditions.
This package includes Ducati Traction Control DVO, Ducati Slide Control, Ducati Wheelie Control DVO, Ducati Power Launch DVO, and Engine Brake Control. The Panigale V4 also features Ducati Quick Shift 2.0, which uses an angular position sensor for more precise shifting and reduced travel.
The new 6.9″ dashboard with an 8:3 aspect ratio maximizes readability without obstructing the windshield view.
Managing these features is a new 6.9-inch TFT display with an 8:3 aspect ratio, enhanced with Optical Bonding technology for better clarity. This display provides real-time data on acceleration, power and torque delivery, and lean angle.
Additional features include a 4.5-gallon aluminium fuel tank and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa V4 tyres. The Panigale V4 S comes with a lithium-ion battery and forged aluminium rims. New accessories include a racing seat and dry clutch, with turn-by-turn navigation, cruise control, and tyre pressure monitoring available as options.
The 2025 Panigale V4 is standard for single riders but offers an accessory passenger kit. For performance enthusiasts, Ducati also offers an Akrapovic track/race exhaust system that reduces weight by 14.5 pounds (6.6kg) and boosts power to 225 hp.
Meanwhile, the wheels are notable for their track-ready design. The Panigale V4S can fit 125/70 and 200/65 Pirelli Diablo Superbike racing slicks in place of the standard Diablo Supercorsa SP-V4 tyres, all without requiring any extra modifications or suspension adjustments.
