Revival Cycles pours in extreme effort to create the best custom bikes

Revival Cycles pours in extreme effort to create the best custom bikes

Revival Cycles are the best source to see a handful of bearded and tattooed guys working hard to come up with the best motorcycles and as per its name, reviving good old vintage bikes. It is located just 15 minutes outside of Austin.

The crew knocks on metals and pounds on leather to create one of the best composite motorcycles and giving vintage bikes a new polished look. Some of the bikes are usually café racers, dirt bikes and track rockets. The outcome and craftsmanship of the bikes are absolutely astounding, from Christmas-looking Ducati bikes to other creative and unique models. Due to that, the bikes cost about six figures and above and may take months to make. Even the entry-level 140 motorcycle costs about $115,000 and takes up to 650 hours to build.

Alan Stulberg, 42, is the one of the creators of Revival. He was a former software salesman that self-taught the art of building shipping containers. The other founder is Stefan Hertel, who is a mechanical engineer that used to make medical devices in Michigan.

“They are literally engineering new [parts], and then they just bury them in the bike, and it’s not even the selling point,” says Mark Buche, an executive at BMW Group’s motorcycle wing, Motorrad. “It’s not just them bolting together some parts.”

Stulberg lost his job about ten years ago and decided that building motorcycles for the community was the best choice to make, and it definitely paid off. He opened Revival Cycles in 2008 and Hertel joined after that.

The firm also does annual shows and the next will be in April. “I wanted to create something new,” says Stulberg. “I want to make everyone feel at home.”
