Suzuki has unveiled the 2027 SV-7S at EICMA 2026 in Milan, Italy, introducing a modern successor to its long-running SV650 middleweight naked sports motorcycle.
The new model continues the SV series’ V-twin formula but brings updated styling, electronic throttle control and additional rider assistance systems. It also joins the SV-7GX, which Suzuki Malaysia previewed in June, as another motorcycle built around the Japanese manufacturer’s familiar 645cc V-twin platform.
In Malaysia, the outgoing Suzuki SV650 returned to the market in April 2025 as a Final Edition, priced at RM29,900, excluding road tax, insurance and registration. The local allocation was limited to 600 units.

Powering the SV-7S is a liquid-cooled, 90-degree V-twin DOHC engine with a displacement of 645cc, carried over from the SV650. Paired with a six-speed transmission, the engine produces 72bhp at 8,500rpm and 64Nm of torque at 6,800rpm, placing it on broadly similar performance figures to the SV-7GX.
The main update comes in the form of electronic throttle control, which allows Suzuki to introduce several electronic riding aids. These include the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS), offering three selectable riding modes, alongside a three-mode traction control system that can also be switched off.
The SV-7S is also equipped with a bi-directional quickshifter, allowing clutchless upshifts and downshifts. Other features include Suzuki Easy Start System and Low RPM Assist, which helps prevent the engine from stalling when pulling away or riding at low speeds.

The SV-7S adopts a more contemporary design while retaining familiar elements from the SV series. Its styling features a round LED headlight, slim body profile and tubular trellis frame, giving the motorcycle a blend of modern detailing and traditional naked-bike character.
The riding position is designed to remain upright and accessible, with wide tapered aluminium handlebars and an ergonomically shaped seat intended to improve comfort on longer journeys. A new 4.2-inch colour TFT display provides riding information and supports Suzuki Ride Connect+ smartphone connectivity.
The Suzuki SV-7S has a running-order weight of 200kg and comes with a 14-litre fuel tank. Seat height is set at 785mm, while the motorcycle rolls on 17-inch wheels fitted with a 120/70 front tyre and a 160/60 rear tyre.

Suzuki announced three colour options for the new model: Pearl Suzuki Deep Blue No.4, Glass Sparkle Black, and Matte Sword Silver with Glass Sparkle Black. However, the Hamamatsu brand scheduled the SV-7S to enter selected markets during the first half of 2027. Pricing and market-specific availability have yet to be announced.
There is currently no confirmation of a Malaysian launch. Given the SV650’s previous local availability, the introduction of the SV-7S could be of interest to Malaysian riders looking for a new middleweight V-twin roadster, although its local arrival remains unconfirmed.
