Heartbreak for Guevara with a foot injury as Arbolino battles to a lonely point in Yamaha’s tough Jerez outing.

The BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 team faced a challenging Spanish Grand Prix, leaving Jerez with just a single championship point after a weekend marred by misfortune. Tony Arbolino battled to 15th place, while Izan Guevara’s promising race ended prematurely after a collision left him with a suspected microfracture in his left foot.

Guevara, who had fought his way up from 14th on the grid to ninth, was struck from behind by David Alonso at the final corner on lap five. The impact crushed his foot against the footpeg with such force that it broke his boot. Rushed to the medical center, X-rays revealed a possible microfracture, requiring further assessment.

“I’m feeling okay and very happy with the part of the race I was able to complete,” Guevara said. “I made a very good start and was feeling comfortable when the crash happened. My foot got caught badly, but I’m focusing on the positives—we made real progress this weekend.”

With Guevara sidelined, Arbolino carried the team’s hopes alone. Starting 24th after a difficult qualifying, the Italian gritted his teeth to climb into the points, eventually finishing 15th.

“I knew this would be a tough weekend,” Arbolino admitted. “We worked hard, but the race was still a struggle. One point isn’t enough for our expectations, but we’ll keep pushing to find solutions.”

The team now looks ahead to the French Grand Prix at Le Mans on May 11, hoping for better fortunes as they continue refining their Moto2 package. Guevara’s participation remains uncertain pending further medical evaluation.
